I worked at Just Born (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits. Some great co-workers

    Cons

Don't be fooled by outside appearances. Too much drama and favoritism. Unfair work practices. People and their abilities are not valued. Philosophy of Respect is plastered all over the company but they do not practice what they preach. Honestly is viewed as a negative there and if your honest and speak out you will either be driven out or fired. That's the sad reality and truth about this company.

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk. People make the company, not the other way around. If an issue is brought to your attention take the time to investigate it for yourself and find out the truth, not a tainted and slanted version of it. Take the time to talk to the people that work for you instead of just swallowing the Kool Aide. The potential to be a great company is there but only if the owners take control of their company instead of letting HR run it.

    Pros

Company donates heavily to local charities.

    Cons

Saddening to see the demise of this once great company. Company was founded on a corporate culture which is still referred to but not adhered to. Rotating door of upper level management. Employees hired based on friendships, not qualifications. Different rules for everyone depending on your friends, your socialability, and your looks. If you were high school prom queen or the all-star QB, you will fit right in here. If you are a working professional serious about your career, take a pass.

    Advice to Management

Determine what you want to be and then act upon it. If you want to be be corporate, then do it and have the balls to make the tough decisions.

I worked at Just Born part-time

    Pros

I gained a ton of experience in leading, listening, as well as following in a professional environment. It's a fun company, good values in theory. Easy enough to work your way up from the bottom if you work for it and really want it.

    Cons

Constant obstacles in regular retail routines that are unnecessary. Sometimes the easiest, simplest solution is the best one...

I worked at Just Born part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy to talk to management when there was problem or question regarding the work that needed to be done.

    Cons

The jobs that we were assigned for being an intern i guess were to be as expected, boring, monotinous, and repetitive. The work we had to do they said would take 10-15 hours for a task but in reality would take 25-35.

I worked at Just Born full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Just Born looks great from the outside; it even appears fun when you step inside. The talk is good and the philosophy/vision would be great if they were true.

    Cons

Beware! Once you are inside, it will not look nearly as good as it did with the rose-colored glasses you wore outside. The line waiting to get out may be as long as the one waiting to get in.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach. If you say it (and if you hang it on your wall), you need to walk it as well. Go back to empowering those who work for you. Allow them to do their job!

I worked at Just Born full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company is a family-oriented organization that has a unique culture or open-door management and family relationship values. The company values the community that it resides in and really "walks the talk" when it comes to giving back.

    Cons

The slow career growth potential and often under-resourced environments make it difficult for motivated individuals to remain motivated and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Find unique ways to foster career/educational growth within the organization and make sure departments are staffed adequately to achieve the goals put in front of them.
