I have been working at Kärcher full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Growing company, aggressive approach, able to allow one to develop within. Great people within specific BU. Work together, get it done, whatever it takes mentality. Good pay / benefits work/life balance.

    Cons

BU's are not aligned to support each other. Local communication and support poor. Higher communication and support marginal.

    Advice to Management

Be careful who you listen to. Most salespeople are only looking out for themselves and how they are commissioned. They could care less about the company as a whole. Listen to the employees that you are losing, they are the ones that cared about the future of the company, who were passionate and dedicated to growing their career with KNA.

I have been working at Kärcher full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company is still growing, just have to be willing to stay around till the doors open for new positions

    Cons

Company is still growing, management is really poor but improving. Lots of pointing fingers and the smartest worker keeps their job not the hardest working worker

    Advice to Management

Keep the hard working people and keep working through the growing pains

    Pros

Cutting Edge Technology and R&D, tremendous middle management. Karcher has more people in R&D than their competitors have employees world wide.

    Cons

Senior management is completely lost, a monarchy - nothing is to difficult for the CEO or EVP's as long as they don't need to do it. The next time Senior management goes out to see a customer will be the first.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the office and go interact with your customers, and see what they really want and need. Ask more questions and talk a lot less about yourself and Karcher.

I have been working at Kärcher full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Karcher is a worldwide leader in manufacturing cleaning equipment.

    Cons

Karcher has decided to hire management from outside the cleaning industry and this will, and is, hindering the company's growth.

    Advice to Management

Karcher field staff have 100s of years of experience and this is a strength that management should take advantage of.

    Pros

Very experienced and knowledgeable staff. Part of the German parent company that is the world leader in power washers. Many recognized brands makes the company the market leader in the United States in professional equipment.

The different departments don't communicate well and often have conflicting goals. This makes it difficult for the organization to fully realize the potential of the talent.

I have been working at Kärcher full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The over-all vibe from colleagues within the Camas location is pleasant and helpful.

    Cons

Due to it being a large conglomerate, many of the complaints from lower end jobs are left unheard, or brushed under the rug. Like many Corporate America companies, you are over-worked and underpaid, and not given much consideration. People who have been there for many years with higher up positions get away with harassment and unprofessional behavior due to favoritism with upper management. Their corporate environment of every office needing to be "standard", look the same, and policies and procedures with every single task, take away from having any personality. It's a very rigid environment, you either comply, or you wont fit in.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, stop brushing situations under the rug. Make your employees feel heard and stop letting harassment happen in the work place.

I worked at Kärcher full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are a lot of great people and customers. The company is strong and stable and lay offs don't really happen.

    Cons

No advancement opportunities, Some of the managers are jokes but upper management does nothing to stop them. The new CEO is making some changes but still allows many department heads to get away with treating staff like garbage. Some departments seem better than others. H-R has a lot of turnover.

    Advice to Management

Hire and promote leaders. Don't reward bad behavior.

  11. Helpful (1)

I don't feel management cares about employees in the US.

I worked at Kärcher full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Employee benefits are good. The people I worked with I enjoyed working with and the communications between locations in the states were improving.

    Cons

There were too many persons in management and not enough workers to do the actual work. Management I felt worried too much about their own bonuses.
