    Pros

This home builder produces a quality home. The are really focused on getting their properties built and sold as fast as possible. They sent me to a 1 week training in New Jersey.

    Cons

Let's see. First off, management is not very skilled. My boss golfed every day, and showed up at the end of the day to check the numbers. If they were low he would rip everyone. No coaching was provided. The sales office I worked at had 3 of us all selling condos. When I had the rare day off, the 2 other reps would steal my deals to make their numbers.

    Advice to Management

First off managers should be part of the team. This means keep regular hours. Second, management should talk to their sales team to get an understanding of what is going on. If numbers are down, everyone should work together on finding a solution.

    Pros

A quality product, great people, and an honest CEO that tries to do the right thing.

    Cons

Despite Ara’s efforts in continuing in the founder’s philosophy, “The first name in lasting value,” presently, K Hov is not the place to seek employment. You will quickly find yourself working for one of the highest “employee turnover” homebuilders’ in the industry (sales and management alike), a misogynist and condescending Group President with a little man’s complex, a collapsing stock value, lower than standard industry pay, unjust pay (customer survey bonus affected by services not provided by the Sales Agent, i.e., loan process, design center, etc.), and an ongoing façade of mid-level management’s constant rouse in distracting upper management with their land, product, and pricing blunders by blaming the sales force.

    Advice to Management

Visit all communities nationwide, ask Sales Agent's (front line troops) for their input.

    Pros

They build great houses so it's an easy product to sell. I can't think of anything else.

    Cons

Don't work for this company. Great product but horrible leadership. They expect you to be on call 24/7. They set you up to fail by giving you unrealistic sales goals. Pointless monthly meeting at their corporate office. You never know where you stay with the company. Most of the employees feel like their always on the chopping block.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating construction like gods and the sales staff like crap. This could be a good company to work for but the leadership is horrible.

    Pros

Friendly place to work, semi-casual dress code, hard working people, building a great product for the money.

    Cons

Poor training, even poorer internal communication. Rediculously high, unspoken expectations. Any failure is not tolerated. Their marketing efforts are a tangle of chaos and cobbled together processes while being constantly stiffled by a corporate management consumed by a fear of litigation.

    Advice to Management

Give new employees a clear path to success and the time and training to do well.

    Pros

Good people, family environment, good with active adult communities

    Cons

This division is stuck in a time warp. Meetings are always held in Edison, NJ forcing people to drive constantly. Technology is not embraced and it is very much the good old boy network. Very white and very male, management is spotty. Way too many promotions based on who one knows compared to merit driven.

    Advice to Management

Learn to get land deals open, hold people accountable.
