Pros
Great work environment. Excellent technology. Good pay and benefits.
Cons
Limited opportunity for advancement into other areas.
Pros
Projects are staffed with a good ratio of associates to partners. Generally lean staffing means associates get some good work. Salary competitive for the market.
Cons
Management not transparent. More lip service given to firmwide associate initiatives than actual support in practice, i.e. flex time, parental leave. Not tolerant of cross-practice group training.
Advice to Senior Management
Allowing associates to work on cross-practice projects helps associates develop different skill sets, especially if one group is low on work and others are quite busy.
Pros
Good salary, interesting work. How much you like your job depends a lot on which partners you work with. Good credit for bringing in clients.
Cons
Jerk partners. Tries to compete with big boys on salary but us cheap on benefits - people are still using CRT monitors.
Advice to Senior Management
Be honest to the associates and don't try to be something you're not. Treat associates with respect. Try not to be a jerk.
