    Great Learning Experience

Account Manager (Former Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsAmazing people to work with and learn from, training program really helps you learn how to be successful at sales/ consulting. Worked at K2 for about a year after college and it helped start my career. The knowledge I gained has helped me succeed in my current position after I decided to leave the company. Very competitive as well and everyone pushes each other to succeed which is unlike many other companies. All in all this company is a great place to start your career and while not everyone will make it to management the skills and knowledge learned will help you succeed in future endeavors.

ConsNo cons that I can think of

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work Kylah, your an amazing person and manager. You teach people what it takes to be successful whether they stay in the business or not. You always want what's best for the person even if its not the best your company, speaks volumes to your character.

    Challenging, yet fulfilling!

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFirst of all I am glad I personally did not listen to or see some of the reviews online about this company before starting. If I did I may have missed out on a life changing career.

K2 provides full training, easy client and product to market/sell for, great people, merit based, opportunity for travel, opportunity for rapid growth.

Nothing is given to you, it is all earned including pay, travel, bonuses, and promotions. It is preparing me to be an entrepreneur and manager where nothing is a given and everything is earned as well.

I was prepared for this position to be a resume builder, but I experienced growth and now I see a career and a fulfilling one as well.

ConsHaving to watch other people sell themselves short.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue your hard work.

    Personal Growth and Beyond

Account Manager (Current Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsK2 is the job you wish you knew about years ago. The work environment is fun and the people are high energy, but most importantly I have grown in knowledge that is useful in both business and in life! The company is based off of hard work and integrity.

ConsOften times people are their own worst enemy, sell themselves short, or don't set goals big enough! A person must be OK with never settling.

    Run by criminals

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe people at the office are very friendly, unfortunately this is the only positive asset for this company

ConsThis company is a complete scam, it is door to door sales under the guise of "Account Manager." Run a good google search on this company, and the people running it, and you will see it is a scam run by criminals. Do not waste your time coming in for an interview, they will pretty much give a job to anyone with a pulse. Also the job is from 10 am - 9pm Monday through SATURDAY, 60+hr work weeks with a salary completely on commission. Also you must pay out of pocket driving across connecticut to the homes that you will harass to buy a unsatisfactory product.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe honest on the first 5 minute interview.

If a job calls you before you have left the parking lot and says you have the job, there is a problem!

Selling Your Soul (Former Employee) East Hartford, CT

ProsI went to an interview with K2. I met with the receptionist, who was flirting with another guy who was their for an interview. The office reminds me of the set of a cheap porn movie, just a sleazy looking place. The interview was with a younger Asian fellow, who was 26 maybe and the VP of the company!! He had scripted questions, but was ready to bring some men on the *team* so they could talk football. Anyways, my questions back had him more stumped then the questions he asked me. Couldnt get a direct answer on what the job entails, pay, etc.......
I was told I would be contacted soon after the interview. I went to the Sunoco across the street from their office in East Hartford, and this gentleman (from Iowa or something like that) called me and told me I was hired. Seriously?

ConsSeriously.....do your research on this company. A call that quick to hire me. And the office waiting area looks like the darn DCF offices on a Monday, all kinds of people *chillin*

Advice to Senior ManagementThe pres. seems nice, I wish I could have met her

    DOOR TO DOOR SALES

ACCOUNT MANAGER (HA!) (Current Employee) Hartford, CT

ProsI received a computer generated email from them saying after reviewing my resume I fit their needs...etc. I then called. During phone screening the woman was talking to someone else and then telling me "great answer" I said"how would you know you were talking to someone else?" I read more and more about this so called job and read that it was door to door sales. When I called back to speak to the same women I got voicemail but she promptly returned my call. I said I read that this was basically door to door sales for AT&T UVerse and that is by no means ANYTHING CLOSE to what I am looking for and if I get out there and find out that is the case it won't be pleasant for anyone. Is that the case? She responded yes. I thanked her for her time and cancelled my "interview."

ConsCould be good for someone looking for that type of work.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust be honest up front.

    total scam

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Hartford, CT

ProsNothing! This whole company is a scam. Do not even go for an interview. Google Cydcore for more information on this company.

ConsYou only work for commission... total pyramid scheme... Do not waste your time. They will call you to come in the next day, have a 5 min. interview and then call you that night saying you got the job. You will go around door to door making no money and getting the door slammed in your face in the company gets brainwashed to think they are going to make 100K in a year. Do not waste your time. If something sounds too good to be true it is. This company is just part of Cydcore, a larger umbrella scam company out west.

Little deceptive in the interview process

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsAmazing sales training, personal growth, leadership skills, public speaking. Very Positive work environment. Incredible room for growth 100% Merit based.

ConsIt was a little deceptive in the interview process. They do not tell you it is door to door sales in your first interview. You come back to the second round interview if invited, you're told to dress " Business Casual" then brought out to walk around " Job Shadowing" all day selling AT&T to residential homes. ( and no these leads that they give you are no way pre-qualified. They don't even know your coming)

They will tell you the hours are 11-8 every day, but yet they do not state that you do not leave the office until about 9:30-9:45PM and get home around 10pm, and that's 6 days a week. Saturdays are mandatory, 9-5.

Now going to the pay. They will write down the four phases of management and pay that goes with it. It looks like decent money, but they don't tell you a few things.

If the customer cancels the service you signed them up with, you do not get squat. How can you know if they will cancel or not? They'll lie to your face saying they wont, minute you leave they will.

Example. If you have a $1000 work week, you can possibly only get paid $200. It is also 100% comm.

You're not really " Writing your own paycheck" because it is all on the customer if you get paid or not. A lot of the times they sign up with you only because they feel bad for you walking around all day, then cancel when you're gone. Most of the time it's not your fault at all, it could be AT&T customer service they had a problem with, they cancel and there goes your money. I didn't like the fact my paycheck was totally reliant the customer, not me. I do not like depending on people.

I only wish I knew these things before accepting the job, I lost money working there.

You also have to use your own car to get to your " Territory's" you spend money on gas lunch etc. They do not give you gas reimbursement. I know Sears has an outside sales position that gives you .20cents per mile for gas reimbursement, but these guys don't give you that ( It is actually the law to give at least .25cents per mile for gas reimbursement for a job like this). I really do not recommend this place if you have a family, or family issues.

                                                      NO BENEFITS!

All in all, it is a good experience, personally and professionally. It is a place for high pressure sales tactics. They stray away from the idea of selling a product and refer to themselves as " Consultants" You're going door to door selling a product, you're a salesmen, not a consultant. You will never see the customers again, so high pressure is the only way to even get a sale have at it, its fun.

In conclusion, if you want to get your foot into the door with Sales, this is the perfect opportunity, but if you're just looking for a day job go to Big Y, or Stop & Shop... You'll probably get paid more there.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the great work!
