I have been working at KBR as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Relaxed environment. Company is very safety conscious.

    Cons

No advancement and must follow every rule. Company plays favorites. Job pays the bills, nothing more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation is the most important thing for a job like this. Negociate compensation up front.

I worked at KBR as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Pay was very good (compared to stateside jobs), travel opportunities were awesome. I had pretty good medical insurance, and income was not taxed, since I was working out of the country. They also purchased your travel tickets for you, saves the hassle.

    Cons

Other contract companies paid more. A lot of uncertainty around drawdown time. It really depends on the project manager... One guy made it hell. The new guy was awesome, and the culture changed a lot. Also, the promotions and recognition was based on no merit. It was virtually random. Harassing coworkers go basically unpunished since the direct supervisors/ managers have no hiring or firing power.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on who is really doing the work and and promotes healthy and positive culture. Actually help get messy people out of the way of folks who are there to work, instead of the whole "keep your head down, and maybe they'll stop bothering you" approach.

I worked at KBR full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Benefits were average. The training was very good on the projects I worked as well as the commitment to safety.
The pay was competitive within the industry.

    Cons

Upper management seemed to lose focus on the importance of their greatest asset the employees in the field.
They were very top heavy in executives. They preached but did not seem overly concerned about a work-life balance.
