    A majority of the lower level employees were a gem to work with and who seemed to really care about the products

    Leadership is nonexistent and there is no career path.

    Pros

    Great culture, great people, family oriented post-acquisition. Environment promotes constant change and growth. Strong compensation and benefits. Phenomenal city location. Multiple opportunities to get involved, to make a difference and if willing to are encouraged to make improvements. For highly motivated, self-driven individuals this is a gold mine.

    Cons

    Constant leadership changes make the environment seem unstable and lacks clear direction. Difficult to navigate political landscape. Small job market in San Antonio so in leadership ranks, not very many options to transition into. Company values changed immensely post acquisition.

    Listen and respect the people. The people are devoted to the company and want to make a difference.

    If a dictatorship is your preferred management method, then please don't pretend to care about the employee's input. It would save time.

    Standard Time Off and Benefits. 401k with company match up. $0.75 for every dollar up to 10%. Fully vested after 1 year. Great products and training

    Cons

    Always short handed, will not hire enough employees causing current employees to be over worked. On-Call time can be stressful with multiple calls from facilities in the middle of the night causing employees to go into office to assist.

    Going down fast! Finance leader barely lasted 1 year!

    Pros

    People are good, management is not. Apex, KCI's "owner" has wrecked many companies and KCI is no exception. See Cole Haan... Opportunities to travel to Europe, Latin America etc are great if you're into that.

    Cons

    A new Finance EVP was put in place but the place was so bad he only lasted a year but not without wrecking the department. Destroyed the audit department by putting in multiple clones with zero Internal Audit experience. Did the same with treasury and other departments. KCI is and has been in disarray for a while. If you love uncertainty this is the place for you! I would avoid this place until they figure out their new direction in finance!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of the current leadership in IA and get someone with Internal Audit experience. The leaders are nice people but they don't have a clue about running an IA shop. They have alienated key people in operations, finance, compliance & legal. Alienating your clients is never good but it seems like this is what they do best!

    Medical industry. Satisfaction in knowing how products are helping people.

    Cons

    Good ol' boy culture is visible. Immature, arrogant middle management. No cross-organizational alignment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Joe Woody was great - middle management not so much. Weed out / clean house to drive results you are looking for. Trickle down is not working.
