    I worked at KCI

    Pros

Great product with the best brand recognition in its category

    Cons

Private equity owners aren't in it for the long haul and have fired or caused most of the experienced people to quit. They are slowly cutting the compensation to the sales force by making unattainable goals and don't seem to have much of a successful strategy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's time to take the company public or to sell it to someone who can invest for the future and make it a great company again.

I have been working at KCI full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Brand new corporate headquarters - I hear it is a nice facility. Appearance that senior leadership is trying harder by engaging employee feedback through surveys.
The pay is commensurate with skill set.
The employees that I interact with are generally nice and helpful.
The products that they offer really do work well and help people in need.

    Cons

Large disconnect between senior leadership and employees. There is a lot of talk and no action.
    Leadership staffing changes frequently.
No room for professional growth. I have not received any professional growth guidance or success path.
My manager does not know their purpose or how to function as a manager.
My manager gets in the way frequently and often makes day to day functions unnecessarily difficult
Attempts to increase "willingness to recommend" are unseen and/or unknown

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be an anonymous way to talk to the upper level management, have some actionable visibility, and accountability.

    Pros

    Flexibility to work from home.

    Cons

    Frequent organizational changes
    Poor bonus structure
    Limited promotion opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you say you want to keep clear communication then practically demonstrate it. Big speeches in townhall wont change the culture of the company. Prove what you promise!

    Pros

    fulfilling career, good pay,

    Cons

drama, poor management at all levels, district managers tend to micromanage because of upper management lack of vision, read cafepharma and find out...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

this is a great company with great products that seems to live off of its laurels... customer service sucks and mid-management needs to hire, train, and trust their salesforce. What are you good at? run with it, rather that react

I have been working at KCI

    Pros

people are supportive and committed to being successful

    Cons

comp plan for sales reps lack motivation. Not a pay for performance concept. Paid based on where patient lives vs the amount of orders YOU encouraged doc to order. I lose about 40% of my orders to surrounding territories. It's difficult to work hard knowing I will not get paid on 40% of my work. On the flip side, the territory reps around my metropolitan area, are not motivated to work hard either because they reap my benefits.

    Pros

The office is in a decent area of San Antonio, which is an easy town to live in and navigate around. There are a few talented people at the company and several nice employees to build friendships with.

    Cons

Upper management is delusional. Constant reduction in force where good people would be let go while unsatisfactory employees remained.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend more time evaluating employee performance and contributions to the business.
