I have been working at KCI Technologies full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule, Employee stock ownership, close relationships with other employees working in your field or on your projects, small office feel.

    Cons

No/limited opportunities for advancement, no interaction of staff within different practices or outside of local office. Does not promote training for lower level employees. Disgruntled older staff create negative energy in offices and for entry level/newer employees, sick time & vacation time bundled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create more opportunities for training. Help to build stronger office relationships in addition to client relationships.

    Pros

You will never out of work if you go out looking for one. The upper management supports anybody who wants to explore other type of works because they understand the evolution and diversity in the workplace. Anyone can become a project leader. KCI is ISO 9001:2008 Certified. Employee stocks are going up higher each year.

    Cons

They don't use the traditional ranks or positions which is confusing to a beginner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep us the good work. Give us the orders and we'll be delighted to do it for the company.

I worked at KCI Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Professional, safety oriented company. Everyone takes their job seriously. But they are not uptight and stuffy. My manager always listened and took any issues seriously, and responded in a positive way.

    Cons

Benefits could be better. Only 6 paid holidays. And at times, we would be forced to take paid time off to cover holidays where we were unable to work on job sites due to state restrictions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

6 paid holidays is not really enough. 10 is a more appropriate number of days.

    Pros

Management allows you to do your job. Direction is given and employees that are self starters get ahead in the program.

    Cons

No cons that I can think of. Appears there are a large number of long term employees which tells me that retention is important in maintaining a top notch company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep communication lines open at all times. Communication prevents errors from happening and stops finger pointing that creates a low morale.

I have been working at KCI Technologies full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) is something you usually don't get a chance to involve yourself in, and KCI has a great ESOP program, 100% vested in 5 years. Large firm, regional presence, lots of work opportunity.Good people, if you are proactive and seek interaction.

    Cons

Easy to get lost in the weeds unless you prove yourself. The different disciplines rarely interact with other disciplines, almost creating High School cliques.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show appreciation to the labor force that is keeping you in business. Some managers have gotten an unapproachable attitude, creating strained relationships.
