I have been working at KDS

    Pros

People are generally nice to work with.
Management naturally shows respect to individuals in the company.
Travel and expense is full of opportunities of all kinds, and KDS is in a good position to meet great challenges.

    Cons

The workplace is far from everything in general, and from any public transportation in particular.
Communication, oral or written, is very poor at all levels (between employees or with managers).
Short term solutions that increase the technical debt are always favored over other solutions.
Technical abilities of employees are low.
The internal quality of the product is very low and very challenging to increase. And there is no driving force to improve things in that area.
Internal planning is poor (when existent).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize that the software is at the core of KDS (as opposed to travel, or expense), and organize accordingly. Hire (real) software developers, develop a clear technical vision for the product, balance sales imperatives with technical challenges, and create a teamwork oriented culture.
