    Pros

There are a lot of nice, friendly people who make coming to work fun & enjoyable. Tellers & loan officers are treated with respect (for the most part).

    Cons

Sell, sell, sell. It's hard to balance the need to sell services & products to customers with the mission of a credit union. I felt like we were trying to take advantage of our owners/members sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be as transparent as you can about the company's health, and don't forget to recognize the front-line staff for their importance!

    Pros

Worked with great people, Great benefits, Great members

    Cons

Sell, Sell, Sell! Sales and growth are important, however, it seemed to come at the expense of the member experience. You are also completely micro managed down to the minute of how much time you spend with the member, how much time you spend on the phone, etc. Even if you are hitting your goals you will never be "productive" enough. Also - if you aren't hitting your goals month in and month out do not expect to be promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't get employees all the time off that you advertise but then not give them the time to be able to use it. Prorate MSR's goals on the months that you REQUIRE them to take a whole week off. Also don't forget about your members and the relationships that your MSR's can build with them. Growth is good but at what expense?

I worked at KEMBA FCU part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Most people were nice, and the company is good for work/life balance. The company offers some nice perks, like having a gym. Many of the people will go out of their way to be nice and polite.

    Cons

Management seems pretty disconnected with everyone else. Also, there is a large focus on keeping costs down for lower level employees, which is discouraging for those working there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get involved with employees more, and if you are going to have values, then please make them genuine instead of just posting them on the wall.

    Pros

KEMBA Fincancial Credit Union offers a competitive salary, a great work environment and respects it's employees desire for work/life balance.

    Cons

They have many employees with a long tenure which says a lot about the credit union, however, there is not much room for advancement depending on your department/job function.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to work on improving communication throughout the organization. Remember the mission and stay focused on the member's financial needs.

I have been working at KEMBA FCU part-time

    Pros

FT Benefits with just PT work.
    Beautiful work environment in Corporate.
    Always seeking to improve overall.
Good communication via leadership to general staff.

    Cons

Worked in Member Services over the phone.
Expected to do too much in short period of time (i.e. sell products, review accounts, resolve issues in just a couple of minutes). Too stressful. Pay structure is low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

That position is the least amount of pay, for a great amount of work. Pls change the structure to not only benefit the external customers, but the internal customers to add balance and greater quality to the Member Service staff on the phones. Happy employees produce happy customers!
