I worked at KFC part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The KFC I worked at was in Clemson, SC. They gave you as many hours as you wanted and it was good money for a high school kid.

    Cons

I worked there until 1am quite often, despite the fact they knew I was in high school. For that alone, I didn't work there very long. Also, the person training me literally walked out, mid-shift while training me and never came back.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just pay attention to what's going on and consider people's age and ability when assigning hours.

    Easy Job
    flexible with school and schedules

    Cons

    Rude customers

    Gets really busy and overwhelming

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I left because our franchise got new owners. The new owners SUCK. They look at you like a number and only care about the money. Our old owners treated us like family and the business really well.

    Pros

Great family atmosphere. If you learn quick on your own, you will go far. Very nice houly wagr for managers.

    Cons

Did not have the support of the ARL because others store had bigger problems then my store. Just because my store didnt have problems didnt mean that I didnt have questions to go further with my experience and to better the company. And after excepting my first salary I learned what the company had budgeted for the yr for the RGM! If you budget 40,000.00 and only pay your RGM 32,000.00. How is that fair?? and to top if off, only manager in store, I was the only one to do orders, training, receiving, hiring, schedule, dead lines, conference calls, budget managment and MANAGING THE STORE. And with only one Shift Leader in (training). :(

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to what your RGM is actually doing not just what they are required to do, because believe not some Managers make a store there home and put all there time and energy into the store and not to be noticed other than vrrbal recongnition is hard to work day in, day out.

    I worked at KFC part-time

    Pros

I worked here because I felt I could move up in the company being an assistant manager in my earlier years here working over eighty hours per week making less than mininum wage.

    Cons

The current management hires people that live his life style. The district manager for the next year does not care about anyone or anything. He will be retiring in a year. Things might get better after he retires in 2015 but I recommend to stay away from this company for the next year or two.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management promotes aggressive people that will not communicate with other employees. This is common in fast food because this is the people that have the most experience in that industry. I pray this is changing over the next couple of years and that management will be replaced with managers that will hire people that are nice to customers and do not give the food away to their friends and family.
