I worked at KKR full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at KKR would have to be the benefits and compensation which were competitive.

    Cons

There were a lot of new people coming into the company creating new rules and really changing the way employees there were viewed and treated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to stick to the core values that were held in such high reagard by employees that have been there for a long time.

I worked at KKR full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Free lunch and snacks. Money is good and the benefit is great...

    Cons

The hour is long and there is zero career advancement. Promotion is based on loyalty, not on merit so be prepared to work for someone who is less qualified than you. Technologies are in the stone age. Don't expect to learn any leadership skills from this place. You are hired to do what you are told, not to be a part of the decision process.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire and promote base on merit and qualifications, not personal liking and loyalty

I have been working at KKR as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Free lunch, snacks, and coffee all day. A great place to start and learn from the ground up.

    Cons

Very poor training, Very poor communication from Human Resources, politicking behind closed doors in regards to your position. HIGH TURN OVER RATE. NO FRIENDLY senior Executive Assistants and NOT honest or straight forward with you position.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Thank you for training Temps!! While they work hard for a permanent position, get offered nothing, and get treated poorly by Human Resources when they can not even work their last day there, they next go on to other financial firms that will pay them what they are worth and offer a permanent position to allow for growth and become an asset to the firm.

I worked at KKR full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Very nice offices, good support system (admin and IT support, learning and development programs). The firm sets high expectations for all of its employees so it can be a very challenging environment, but a good opportunity for personal growth. Accomplishments are recognized. Good benefits and compensation.

    Cons

Work/life balance can be difficult. There seems to be more red tape since the company went public several years ago. KKR has lost a bit of the boutique/family firm culture with their growth over the last 7 to 8 years.

    Pros

Great Pay, wonderful to have only one boss to report to, great benefits, beautiful offices, probably one of the best working environments I have had.
