IT Managers have little credibility and poor skills and incredibility incompetent and disliked

Advice to Senior Management
Just to echo some of the other reviews I've read below, and to be quite honest the advice is of a similar nature. The IT senior management absolutely just refuse to listen, so there really is no point. It is their way or the highway. Leaving this company was the best decision I ever made in my life. Really terrible company to be associated with, and by all accounts, this is the norm
Pros
Employees are allowed various training and development opportunities in the company. Entry level employees also have exposure to leadership team.
Cons
Sometimes there are just too many stakeholders involved in the issue makes change hard to happen. Some office politics happened.
Pros
Great benefit stock purchase, 401k matching up to three thousand per year.. Good pay compare to similar job at different companies. A lot of OT if you don't mind spending all your time at work
Cons
Difficult balancing time between family and work due to tight schedule and work load.
OT is voluntary bases but you better know better than to say no.
Pros
The MBA Finance rotational program is one of the best in the nation where you get to become a well-rounded Finance professional.
Cons
This company is not an entrepreneurial company and there are lots of bureaucracy to get to upper management. They make you work very very long hours.
Pros
cutting edge technology, extremely intelligent folks
Cons
no work life balance, expect to work 10-12 hrs
Advice to Senior Management
morale is quite loow.
Pros
Some of the people are not so bitter, but the vast majority are
The managers seem to be able to survive with no great turnover
There is work but no real bench strength
Cons
A really poor work environment where survival is the key
There is really no incentive to do well or to get ahead since it's not recognized
The management team do not listen nor do they appreciate the hard work of key individuals
People are leaving in droves and there is an increasingly negative work atmosphere with people desperate to get out
Advice to Senior Management
It's hard to offer advice when so many have left the IT department or are inclined to leave if they can
Management should encourage key knowledgeable individuals to stay but there really is no incentive for them
I am so glad I have left
Pros
Lots of travel. Relatively high responsibility if you're established in the company. Work-life balance to some degree. Interaction with all major semiconductor manufacturers.
Cons
See Pros. Sink or swim. Skills not being used effectively. Network of veterans makes it difficult for non-veterans to advance.
Advice to Senior Management
Spend more time finding and encouraging the talent in the organization to come forward. Support it. Encourage work-life balance in ways that don't cost the company money. Involve employees in looking for ways to lower cost and share with them the gains. Address the problem that tenured talent are frequently laid off due to high salaries, etc. while tenured management is not.
Pros
Challenging work, plenty to do
Opportunity to move around
Good people to work with
Cons
Average compensation and poor travel policy
Limited opportunities to move up
