Pros
Technology is competitive and dominant in the market place
Cons
Mangement could be more effective
Advice to Senior Management
More communication is needed from top management
Pros
Some interesting technology. Some good people to work with, but in the end you'll just share in the same misery.
Cons
People treated like commodities. If they can't make the numbers for the quarter, heads get chopped. PhDs treated worse than construction workers.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your people with dignity and respect! Knowledge continuity is more important than keeping any one quarter in the black.
Pros
extremely challenging enviornment
lots of opportunity to learn
interact with people/teams from around the world
responsibility for a task is given very early on.
Cons
underpay you compared to the competition by atleast 20-30%
expect to work weekends
Advice to Senior Management
appreciate people who have worked hard for the company.
too lean a company- hire more people so that work can be given out evenly
try to hold on to people who have proved themselves.
Pros
High tech environment with intelligent people.
Cons
Cyclical environment with periodic layoffs.
Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Overall, a great group of people to work with -- in all departments. Most are intelligent & hard workers. Benefits are OK.
Cons
Management does not seems know what they are doing.
Very poor top down communication.
Too conservative when it comes to petty expenses.
Advice to Senior Management
Respect is a two way street. Employees are most valuable assets for the company and they deserve more appreciation. Reduce bureaucracy.
Pros
- Some of the people I worked with were highly competent but they are few and far between
- Poor quality management will serve as a reference point for when you leave for that better job
Cons
- The quality of the management here in IT is really poor. It's also a small boys club that you do not want to join
- Several individuals have come across into IT from the business and they are universally poor to deal with.
- Ineffective CIO who absolutely no one thinks highly of
- Having to work with people who show little drive, ambition or are extremely demotivated
- Demotivated workforce who have been here for far too long
- Increased emphasis on outsourcing
Advice to Senior Management
- Management just refuses to listen
- I am so glad to have left. I'm just sorry for the people who still remain
Pros
interesting work
comparable benefits
good position in the industry
educational opportunities inside and outside the company (for the most part anyway)
knowledgeable leadership
Cons
The company is not famous so nobody is going to be impressed when they hear you work at KT... Sometimes management is slow to provide advancement and learning opportunities.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall management does pretty good job in getting things done, however as mentioned before, it would be nice to have a more defined path and opportunities for advancement.
Pros
Leading edge technologies. New & fresh ideas. Some very good business processes developed and followed
Cons
Don't take time to celebrate successes - seems like "what have you done for me lately?"
Advice to Senior Management
Open communications at ALL levels of management.
Treat people with respect.
Pros
Exciting products and strong engineering teams
Cons
Overcommitment of resources to close commercial deals
Advice to Senior Management
Don't overcommit
Pros
Good technology and product.
Good traning programs.
Good work/life balance.
Most people are friendly.
Cons
Low morale in some functions due to extremely biased merit increase policies.
Keeping taking things away from employees. The latest example is downsized cubicles to minimal size where a guest chair can't even fit in, dispite huge resistance from employees.
Upper management doesn't care what average employees think.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to employees and use a bit more generousity to employees.
