Pros
It is the foundatioin of your future career in the finance area, which offers you an opportunity to learn basic knowlege in financial analysis.
Cons
Lots of overtime. It's difficult to maintain work-life balance. Sometimes you have to work overtime without compensation. Anyway, the job is very challenging.
Advice to Senior Management
The management should pay more attention to the employee's life. Lots of staff complain about the flexible leave policy. We should deserve better.
Pros
- Fun environment
- Great flexibility
- Good pay
Cons
- Hours long
- Little client choice
Pros
The challenging environment, the work oriented culture and the opportuities to learn new things on a consistent basis witin the organization.
Cons
Long work hours, loads of personal sacrifices within the years where you work within the Firm and the few hours of sleep.
Advice to Senior Management
The challenging environment, the work oriented culture and the opportuities to learn new things on a consistent basis witin the organization.
Pros
multicultural, provide good training and global
Cons
no retention program, employees are not cared for
Advice to Senior Management
pay attention to the welfare of employees
Pros
If you are a manager, there are opportunities for promotion to senior manager if you meet the established goals and have the necessary revenue.
Cons
A downside to work at KPMG is if you are a senior associate in federal it maybe difficult to get promoted to manager. One year no one was promoted and the following two years only one per year was promoted to manager. Of course this is based on if revenue is avail on current project or another within your work sector.
Advice to Senior Management
Honestly communicate why a person is not ready for promotion.
Pros
Only brand name is there.
Cons
1) too much of politics within management.
2) Very less package.
3) Exploit you by giving printing and scanning work.
4)No respect at all, seniors treat you like you are not worthy of anything..
5) They internally exploit you in such a way that you yourself feel like quiting.
6)If you are taking up any other course other than CA than please never join this firm.
7) HR is worst. They will never respond to you on anything.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop recruiting audit assistant and spoiling their career for your benefits.
Please recruit office boys for printing and scanning.
Pros
it's been a good learning experience at a fast developing firm in CHINA and good for young professionals indeed. good for fresh graduates
Cons
its hard to have working and life balance if you are on a project. sometimes you need to ask for good project
Advice to Senior Management
its been changing to more and more local culture, which believes the local talent is cheap and not well-paid as it used to
Pros
good annual leave. engagement based structure makes it easier for you to take leaves when you are off an engagement.
Cons
Lack of care from management for employees' career growth.
Lack of understanding of industry specific knowledge.
Too much travel required.
Advice to Senior Management
Show more interest in employees' career growth by doing more, not saying more.
Provide more opportunity for employees to understand more industry knowledge.
Pros
5 weeks of vacation, great training, buddy system/mentorship program was helpful to new hires, managers, sr managers and partners were very smart and capable
Cons
The hours were long, but that's expected of the industry and the profession. There were too much office politics at the location I was working at. I witness staffs receiving discrimination for projects or made to work tough jobs 100% of the time because of unfair gossip/reputation. The performance review process was not transparent: negative formal reviews are unforeseen and catches staffs by surprise, when it should be communicated to the staffs immediately to give people chances to improve.
Advice to Senior Management
Create a culture that is anti-gossip, especially when it is about new staffs and when it could affect their work experience.
Pros
Quality people, work experience, good benefits, lots of varied support (sabbaticals, concierge, etc) but a lot depends on where exactly you are within the firm - make sure your partner and your practice are a good fit for you.
Cons
Penny-pinching, stress levels, inability of management to focus. Company has plenty of strong performers but i is often mired in internal conflict or indecision - management by committee. Initiatives get started but never get finished as priorities change.
Advice to Senior Management
CA's don't necessarily make good CEOs, CMOs, COOs, etc. Get help running the firm, please. It would be beneficial to actually have people who know marketing or HR running the functions but the CAs will never cede the power.
