Pros
Good salary and benefits. A lot of responsibility and independence to do your work. Senior management has monthly phone conferences to let you know what changes are likely coming.
Cons
With the economic downturn, severe cutbacks were made to the 401(k) match and the inability to go out of town for CPE/CLE seminars.
Advice to Senior Management
Let the partners bear more of the burden of the downturn rather than penalizing the associates so much. Keep the focus on training and retaining the associates.
Pros
The people are very friendly and caring of your personal and work time. Excellent salary, and growth opportunities.
Cons
Long work hours during busy seasons.
Advice to Senior Management
international training opportunities needs to be advertised more
Pros
work/life balance
looks good on resume
great benefits
plenty of time off
many projects to work on
good clients
friendly people
Cons
great place to start your career but that's about it, don't expect to go too far in the company just because you work hard.
meaningless work
weak leadership
Advice to Senior Management
reward the people who perform well, recognize their efforts. pay your employees more and give them more responsibilities. you need better leadership
Pros
The pay is pretty good, looks good on a resume, good experience depending on clients you work on and people you work with
Cons
poor work/life balance, sometimes forced to eat hours, managers often micro-manage, you pretty much have to suck up to people to make it in this firm
Advice to Senior Management
Show employees that you appreciate their hardwork, , dont wait until the end of the year to give feedback on performance
Pros
Experience, net-working, brand name, good training programms, future opportunities
Cons
Hours, not flexible, scheduling problems, availability during summer.
Advice to Senior Management
Flexibility will be nice
Pros
They have groups for people with different backgrounds. They sponsor lots of events to promote network. All this makes you part of the family.
Cons
Long hours and travel. .
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of the employees that travel more than 25% of the time.
Pros
The young and dynamic atmosphere and ability to move around within business sectors and within different offices.
Cons
The bureaucratic nature of working at a huge corporate environment.
Advice to Senior Management
They do a really good job of placing employees on projects.
Pros
It is a great place to start your career. At the end of three years of employment, there are practically endless opportunities available. The people are very cool and fun to be around, and it makes working long hours very easy. The diverse relationships you build in your first three years are incredibly valuable to building your network. I started my career at KPMG with an internship and I would recommend that experience to any person who has the chance to do it.
Cons
The hours are very long. Although the hours are very long, it is quite consistent with the industry.
Advice to Senior Management
I can't think of anything that they don't already know.
Pros
Brand name on the resume, 25 days vacation for new employees.
Cons
Work life balance is not valued at all. Management will talk all about how they are on the top 100 list for best employers to work for, but all the perks (work life balance, flexible work schedule, etc.) only apply for secretaries in the office (client support staff). No client delivery people (90% of the company) can partake in these perks as you're slaving away at some client site somewhere. Partners will promise the client the moon, and then leave staff to figure out how to deliver. Typical client service, don't think its different from any other Big 4 firm.
Advice to Senior Management
Find a way to get the perks to the people that are actually making the money - the client delivery personnel! Not the admins!
Pros
Varienty of assignments, exposure to multiple industries
Cons
Politics, lack of consistent feedback
Advice to Senior Management
None
