Advice to Senior Management
Employees in practice industries (ADVISORY, AUDIT, TAX) are not the only people who work for the firm. There are those of us who work hard everyday for our clients who happen to be internal employees and not only are we not adequately compensated, but we hardly ever hear "thank you".
Pros
Work Life balance is great if your work for the right people and the firm offers a fair compensation package. Awareness of diversity is embraced and makes everyone feel at home.
Cons
The culture can be too stiff depending on what group you are in. Performance Management process can be inconsistent at times causing gaps in professional development. Communication can be broken at times causing some employees to feel a disconnect.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep working on the relationship and mentoring, that is what will help your people to grow and feel good about their career path. Find new ways to develop loyalty to help you retain the talent you work so hard to attain.
Pros
Good working enviornment for professionals
Cons
Difficult to communicate fact to partner when they own different project than their practice area.
Advice to Senior Management
Good leadership but govenored by audit so advisory has to take additional pain to meet audit standard
Pros
Really great benefits and opportunity to advance if you want to.
Cons
Not enough hours in the day to do work. Culture is too stiff. People are over worked.
Advice to Senior Management
Use the employee surveys and keep making changes that will impact performance and work/family balance.
Pros
Great name and brand recognition
Cons
Lots of red tape and so much risk and compliance stuff to deal with
Pros
- Industry Experience
- Develop your transferable skill sets
- Opportunities to work across service lines
Cons
- Unfair Performance Review Process
- Career growth not base on your performance
- Too political
Advice to Senior Management
Management needs to make work rewarding in order for the employees to stay.
Pros
good starting place for building your career.
Cons
get out after a few years dont think staying long will be rewarded in any way
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of your employees
Pros
The best reasons to work for KPMG is for the experience you receive. It is a wonderful place to start a career.
Cons
The work life balance is non-existance. It is difficult to have a work life balance. However, you know this when you take the job.
Advice to Senior Management
I believe they need to have a larger audit staff in order for employees to work more normal work hours.
