I worked at KPMG International as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Alternative work arrangements and generally flexible schedule. Above average onsite work environment and working conditions. Work itself is always interesting and competitive in technical nature with peer businesses.

    Cons

Projects are run in a matrixed environment therefore one resource is usually committed to more than one effort. This results in a need to work excessive hours to meet deadlines. Some work that is out-sourced would be better served with in-house resources.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a consist growth path for employee development. Ensure the business expertise stays in-house.

I worked at KPMG International full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Build your Network, Meet great people, Learn a lot, opportunities for global experience, great benefits and perks that come with working for a big 4 accounting firm

    Cons

Hours can be terrible (required to work a minimum of 55+ hours during busy seasons... about 4 months out of the year). Yearly Hours are not consistent and are more like a "roller" coaster, extremely busy at some points (a few over-nighters) and then super slow at other times. Easy to become burnt out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more help during busy seasons, too stressful and no work-life balance during busy seasons
