I worked at KPMG US full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Compensation is good, time-off is generous, opportunity for advancement. KPMG offers a lot of perks to its employees which helps to make it a fun place to work.

    Cons

It's an accounting firm so it's not the most creative place to be but there are opportunities to work with people who have amazing backgrounds and you can learn so much just by being around them. There is a culture of competitiveness between difference sections of the company - negativity, back-stabbing. If you're a positive person and don't engage with the negativity, you'll be fine.

I have been working at KPMG US full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The time off is great - 20 to 25 days per year, plus 13 Holiday. There is also separate volunteer leave. Some flexibility depending on work group. Lots of money to spend on parties and team events.

    Cons

The senior of the project can make or break your experience here. Some are only out for themselves, and it seems like the people who complain the most get what they want. But others are great. Some projects have no work-life balance, don't always care for personal life, but again, depends on the specific lead of the project.

I have been working at KPMG US full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Pay, Benefits, Travel, and industry exposure... The training is almost all on the job so you will have to learn as you go for the most part. Clients are very diverse and so is some of the work that you are exposed to as first year associate. Promotions are predominantly based on time and performance. Variety of locations across the United States. You can work pretty much anywhere there is a KPMG office.

    Cons

Long Hours during busy season, lack of diversity among senior leadership in the firm, and hardly any extensive training process. Travel can also be a burden as well during the busy months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a more diverse associate pool so that minority groups feel more comfortable within the various of the firm. When you only see one kind of person at the top there is not much motivation at the bottom. Overall, there should be a higher recognition of the ever growing need of diverse leadership. This is serious lacking in almost all areas firm wide.

Big money leads to big opportunities. You will have to work hard and will have to network well, but if you put in the effort the up room is there. If you take your career into your own hands you will be able to move far and fast.

    Cons

Big companies come with bureaucracy which can be annoying, but isnt overwhelming.
