    Pros

The variety of clients you work on, the great people and practice group; room for growth and great salary and benefits.

    Cons

The long hours during season but it pays off as the rest of the 8 months during the years are not that bad.

    Advice to Management

Advice to management is to listen more carefully to the associates that are doing the day-to-day work on the engagements.

    Pros

Good place start your career. There is some flexibility in working remotely if your team allows it. Great benefits as well.

    Cons

There are limited options in terms of career development for business support professionals. You can remain in the same position for several years.

    Advice to Management

Management should put more effort into creating opportunities for business support staff.

I worked at KPMG US full-time

    Pros

Nice people and good values as a firm.

    Cons

Lower than market pay, not very exciting work, your success is dependent on the political agenda of the managers and directors they assign you to. They are not very good at retaining employees. You work alot of hours that you do not charge the client because they are not very good at pricing engagements so as a result you do not get credit by management for the true hours you work.

    Advice to Management

Figure out a way to realistically track hours worked by professionals so you can calculate ROI on each engagement. Unbilled hours are hours that could either be billed to another client, used for business development or given back to the employee which would increase work life balance.

    Pros

EVS group in Chicago is good at what they do, hard working, and people you would want to grab drinks with.

    Cons

Associates work very long hours, but you know what you are getting into.

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide strong mentorship programs.

Better work-life balance than other Big 4

    Pros

Good work-life balance, the culture is less demanding on billable hours than other Big 4 firms. It is still the most important metric but there is at least a nod towards anything outside of utilization.

    Cons

Technology-wise a little behind the times. Career advancement is generally slower than other Big 4, and variable compensation can be disappointing.

    Advice to Management

Advance the career progression timeline to be in line with the rest of the industry. It wouldn't change the responsibilities that much, as it would largely be a title upgrade. This would also line up with the recently added level above senior manager.
