I have been working at KPMG US full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Potential for career movement, great people, some good opportunities. Good for networking opportunities and great to have on your CV.

    Cons

Poor training/in-job support, expectations not in line with pay, very unintuitive software systems which senior staff have very poor knowledge of which can delay key processes. Far too much admin on different systems, with different risk procedures - all too complicated. Do not feel valued at all - current staff are often overlooked for opportunities which are offered on the job market so the company will receive grants etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overhaul and streamline software, make staff feel valued in real terms and not with stupid, impractical gestures (One Firm)

Current Employee - Tax Assistant Manager in London, England (UK)

I have been working at KPMG US full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The reputation, having it on your cv.

    Cons

Long hours (always expected to work late and even weekends).
Very risk focused (often spending time making sure we caveat documents correctly rather than actually doing a proper technical analysis).
Full of people who like to play the game (rather than actually getting on with work, the saying of it's not what you do just what you appear to do applies here).
Holidays are often difficult to take because you're so busy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop cost cutting by using centralised systems!
