Pros
The cameraderie between people on the workfloor is pretty strong, and internal education programmes are quite good. If the company sees you as a person with high potential, they will give you the oppertunity to educate yourself, and to gain experience.
Cons
senior management does not know where to go with the business. Everyone is just "doing something", and there is no strong leadership that points out where we should go. There are a lot of rules and regulations, written and non-written, that make things slow or sluggish.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to the people on the workfloor, and don't try to hide in your ivory towers whenever things go wrong. Get a sense of direction, choose a course, and stick to it!
Pros
Relatively easy to be a good to excellend performer. There are still a lot of old-school semi governmental employees left, so outperforming those will be easy. As it is a leader in telecoms it is also possible to generate substantial revenues when you have great business sense. Work/life balance is nice as people are not really pushed in general to perform outside of your own job/40 hour work week
Cons
average skill level of employees is low, you are not really challenged
Advice to Senior Management
engage with and challenge the top performing employees
