-Company is always trying to improve and maintain a strong place in the gaming industry.
-Treated as a junior engineer not just an inter.

Rocket ship ride, where leaders try to do the right thing.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsAmazing talent, focused and results oriented. Benefits and perks are great. People for the most part want you to succeed. Management always tries to do the right thing.

ConsMarkets change, and Kabam changes. Amazing at changing and pivoting, concerned as things get complex to be able to change quickly.

In danger of losing it's vision.

    Community Manager (Current Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsGreat coworkers, wonderful perks, takes care of their people.

ConsInstability, corporate restructures often, company over-obsession with "hits" has a tendency to bloat projects and over inflate expectations

Advice to Senior ManagementBe creative again. Stop chasing the latest trend. Nobody becomes an industry leader by "fast-following". Don't neglect opportunities for niche hits. Stop asking investment bankers to design games.

    Awful

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood location, free lunch, some cool people. Swag and fancy chairs. All stuff you can get anywhere these days. Game room.

ConsCEO is nice but out of his league. No product vision, re-Orgs every 6 months, creative talent is crushed Til they walk out the door. No innovation - re-skin everything. We did have a good HR rep, but she left - now you get ignored. Lots of promises - but raises keep getting delayed.

Perfect Workplace for People Not Interested in Making Actual Games

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Pros- Great perks such as catered meals, compensated health benefit packages
    - Good work / life balance
    - Great opportunities for people with little to no pride in their work, few applicable skills and that enjoy doing the bare minimum
    - Good entry into "games industry" for someone that has never worked in games, especially if you come from a banking / monetary analyst background

Cons- It's the "games industry", by no means a real example of working in a real game company
    - Plagued by inexperienced and inept managerial staff
    - Company does not practice nor encourage the core values it communicates to employees
    - Promotion and career advancement is based on politics instead of proven aptitude and skill set
    - Managers don't understand strength of staff and their skills and often slot them into roles their ill-suited
    - Little to no growth opportunity beyond entry / mid-level positions
    - Integrity and quality are far too often sacrificed in order to meet "the bottom line"
    - Game Designers are often staffed with no experience eBanking analysts
    - Those that question the status quo often see their employment terminated
    - Great opportunities for people with little to no pride in their work, few applicable skills and that enjoy doing the bare minimum

Advice to Senior ManagementHave a some respect for players, as ultimately they are the ones that keep the company running. You can afford to shave off at least 30% of your current workforce and be able to make better products with greater profit margins.

    bad

    Management (Former Employee)

ProsSome smart people there. Competitive and focused. Results oriented.

ConsHorrible product vision. No sense of what provides value to players, nor a will to pursue a strategy of providing value. Very myopic product vision from senior management.

Co-founders and a couple others are honest but the rest of Sr. Management is all scrambling to fill a power vacuum

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGreat to see how a game company works on the inside; great to have hit major quarterly goals consistently.

ConsPriorities are always changing... and everything is always last minute. And not in the "we've discovered something new about customer needs, let's get them what they want" way... but instead more of a "that company over there is doing this, ergo we should do this also... and get it done yesterday" way. There is little team cohesiveness because team resources are always being shifted around due to weekly game performance. This leads to a lack of trust amongst teams. The entire company from top to bottom is focused on squeezing the maximum amount of money out of the customer and not focused at all on what the customer wants. It's click farming at a corporate level and eventually it will stop working. The CEO, while good-hearted and does seem to actually care about the customer, is creating a power vacuum that other, more manipulative and power hungry senior managers are swooping in to fill. Sounds like a great recipe for success, right?

Advice to Senior ManagementNone as they probably won't heed it anyway.

Top rate atmosphere top salary, good relocation allowances and other bonuses

    UI Artist (Former Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsWork atmosphere is outstanding. Good friendly bunch of people and good interaction between deparments

ConsTop management need to learn the phrase "Customer centric" and practice that ethos more.
Far too many complaints go unheeded. They seem not to recognise that there is are real humans behind all that income.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your head out of the clouds and realise that customer satisfaction and confidence pays our salaries and it DOES matter how many users we have and the revenue is a product of that user base.

Dynamic was our euphemism for lacking direction

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    San Francisco, CA

ProsPlenty of room to build, input is welcome
    Some very smart people
    Lots of change
Great selection of food, catered meals, lots of social events

    ConsConstant change in direction
Lack of experience at the top, lack of planning and hasty/shoddy execution in most endeavors
Reacting instead of planning and acting
    Goal posts constantly moving

Advice to Senior ManagementSlow down and stop reacting; be proactive
