    Pros

Do not have to worry about layoffs (as surrounding hospitals do), strong executive leadership continues to grow organization, tuition assistance available, support professional growth.

    Cons

Times of exceptional growth can result in extra hours, but this does level out in time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Employees are mostly positive and friendly. Decent pay and Benefits.

    Cons

Management is is only looking out for themselves and their pocketbook. They will dump an employee who has been working there for 17 years for little or no reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are going to be a hospital centered on treating individuals how they deserve to be treated it should include the employees.

Great patient care but at a heavy personal price on the backs of doctors and nurses, primarily

    Pros

If you're in it for the money, there really isn't a higher paying hospital in this area to work. A lot of money is put into the hospital's image. Comments from patients are often, "Wow, this room is like a hotel. I may never leave!" Frequent remodeling and upgrades are done. New equipment is fairly often brought in. Of course, these are made possible by cutting very close to the bone in how doctors and nurses are treated.

    Cons

KRMC, in my opinion, clearly does not truly care whether employees get rest breaks or an exceptable lunch break. When an RN is assigned additional patient load, and breaks, required charting, or other matters remain outstanding, the RN is told that "patient care comes first--those things can be taken care of later..." --with later meaning on overtime. This makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to finish a shift, do required paperwork/charting, get home, wind down, get to sleep and properly rest for the next day or two or more. This all may be by design, or it may be out of ignorance on the part of management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put each manager with an RN license that you have on the floor at least once a month on a 12 hour shift, and once per quarter require that they to work at least one weekend, and at least one stretch of three days in a row, as employees are required to work. This will give you true insight into the issues involved.

    Pros

Friendly and knowledgeable staff committed to improving patient care. The first place I've worked for where the management recognizes that to make money long term you need to produce a better product (in this case service) and retain good employees. Great opportunities to move around to different departments and gain tons of experience. A place that I can see working at long term/build a career. It is the healthcare leader in the region and its employees are proud to uphold that tradition. Kadlec does a great job of staying up with new technologies and offers their patients a wide range of options and expertise. A place you can work at and truly feel fulfilled and happy at the end of the day while making a competitive living. Located in a smaller community whose economy is heavily dependent upon a government contract. Fortunately, that contract will probably be around for a long time making the economy more resistant to recession.

    Cons

Kadlec has a very flat organizational structure making it difficult to "climb the corporate ladder" for those interested in that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

A quality workplace, actually patient focussed with real concern for employees. I've never worked for a place before where the senior leadership walked the walk they talked, and demonstrated a truely caring and responsible community attitude. The hospital is more concerned about doing the right thing than showing a profit, and what often follows is profitable, They built an entire new patient tower without any tax or government handouts, while the other local hospital complains bitterly about their facilities and asks for handouts to help them build more floorspace while they continue to mismanage what they have.

    Cons

Living next to a nuclear waste facility,
