I worked at Kalahari Resort full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

My managaer was very flexable during the time that I was there. I also learned alot during the time I was there.

    Cons

Narrow minded when it comes to peoples legal problems. Did not matter that I showed up everyday (even when I was sick). As soon as I disclosed a recent legal problem they had no time to work with me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a more open mind towards Felons....we are not all bad people.

    I worked at Kalahari Resort

    Pros

Good place to start working if you are down on your luck. They are constantly looking for help in a myriad of positions through the year. Often promote within, good chance to gain supervisory experience.

    Cons

The owner of the company, dispite what they try to tell you when you're hired couldn't care less about you. When you work there you are known only by your employee number. It is difficult to be recognized for your work. Going above and beyond your job is never rewarded, your manager will simply tack that extra bit into what you have to do anyways from then on out. Be prepared to have to talk to a lot of people with broken English, they have a program which brings in students from foreign countries on a rotation through the seasons and it is nice to get to know people from around the world. At the same time you will notice some of these groups of students are there to actually work, but the majority are there because they have to be. Most of them this is the first ever job they have and are more interested in drinking or partying than work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take two seconds out of your day to recognize your employees for the work they are doing. Just two seconds to say thank you. If someone had done that, just once in my 4 years working there, I might have stayed. God knows I loved what my job was, I just hated my managers because they never recognized or appreciated any of my work.
