I worked at Kane's Furniture (More than a year)

    Pros

I really liked the people I worked with. Good hours and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do this job.

    Cons

The management downs their employees and is really out of touch as to what goes on in the warehouse.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and reconnect with your employees and customers.

I worked at Kane's Furniture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None at all. Anyone working there in their office or as management couldn't work anywhere else if they tried. All has beens.

    Cons

Worst job ever for anyone. Management downs all customers and walks around with their noses up in the air. Creepy place to work. Management uses warehouse peeps on company time to move personal belongings and makes purchases with deep discounts written in friends names for coverup. Crooked stuff going on there. Certain Office help conceals alcohol in beverages because they cannot function without it. Managements biggest concern of the day is what's for lunch. Very hostile environment to work in unless you participate in the tight click. Sales people are treated like garbage, and the things that Managers say about them openly to others behind their backs should be illegal in a workplace.

    Advice to Management

Close the store. It's a has been place.

I have been working at Kane's Furniture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Store level is nice place to work, friendly associates and co-workers.

    Cons

corporate mentality broken. they forget that the stores generate the sales which equate to their paychecks. they should be working for stores, not other way around

    Advice to Management

good luck getting anything done when it comes to delivery or corporate assistance

    Pros

WOULD RATHER HAVE A NIGHTMARE EVERY NIGHT THEN WORK AT THIS PLACE.

    Cons

If you enjoy living in poverty, being berated by management, getting stabbed in the back, listening to customers complain all day, computers that don't work, not getting paid on time, arrogant, pissed off front office employees, a new manager every couple of weeks, broken air conditioning, people who hate the clown that runs this joke of a company, then this is the place for you. NIGHTMARE!

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to someone with a beating heart. Your founder is rolling in his grave.

    Pros

If you are breathing, you will be offered a sales job at Kane's. They are always looking for Sales People.

    Cons

They seem to have absolute contempt for the Sales staff. They offer no support. When the computer makes a mistake, you have to pay Kane's Furniture back for the mistake. This can amount to hundreds of dollars.

    Advice to Management

PLEASE treat your sales staff with some compassion. Update and replace old useless computers and programs.

I have been working at Kane's Furniture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If your in sales then you can make a decent income, but you have to work extremely hard to make average $14+.

    Cons

I'm in sales and there can be alot of drama with this position because its 100% commission and other salespeople try to steal your customers and sales.

    Advice to Management

You hand out awards to people congradulating them of being with your company 20 years.... and you can't even spell their names right? Are you serious?

  11. Helpful (1)

The worst organization I have worked for in my 20+ years in the furniture business.

I have been working at Kane's Furniture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of locations. Been in business a long time.

    Cons

The company has little regard for it's employees. This starts at the top as the CEO sends this message thoroughout the company. Employees work with fear in there eyes as this company hires people to fire current ones and everyone knows it. There is no loyalty or long term growth here.

    Advice to Management

Philosphys are old and dated just like the buildings and computer systems. Re-invest in your company and employees or you are destined for failure. What worked 30 years ago may not be relevant today
