ProsK-State faculty care about student success. It's a very rewarding place to work and a wonderful atmosphere surrounds the campus and community. Manhattan is the quintessential college town and the students are very motivated.

ConsVery few. Salaries are not as competitive as some other institutions but the cost of living and quality of life more than make up for this.

Manhattan, KS

Former Employee – worked at Kansas State University as a contractor for more than 3 years

ProsThis university has built a support structure that enables faculty to engage students in learning together, including training, tech support, research support, etc. I have worked at three universities, and the other two did not begin to match the intentionality with which K-State orchestrates an environment in which faculty as teachers can thrive - leading to thriving students.

ConsThe only downside is that K-State is in the middle of Kansas, and I am a city girl.

Advice to Senior ManagementShare what you do with other universities through writing. Leverage what you know about making a university great, so that American universities can thrive overall.
