I have been working at Kantar Retail full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A really young office filled with really bright people who challenge you and put a lot of responsibility on you from the start

    Cons

The work can be stressful sometimes. You have deadlines that you have to hit and sometimes that means staying late (although not often) and coworkers often lend a helping hand.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work. The flat structure is great and the company is certainly headed in the right direction.

    Pros

Small company feel but large organization benefits
Management is really engaged and invested in the growth of the company and keeping keeping employees happy
Fair recognition of work and continued responsibility given to those that deserve it
Generally low political nature in the organization (Flat)
    Open culture

    Cons

Compensation is a little under what you would want for the work but the experience & responsibilities make up for it and then some.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the current effort to invest in your employees & making Kantar an amazing place to work & become more competitive with salaries

I worked at Kantar Retail full-time

    Pros

You will learn about retailers and the retail industry.

    Cons

Salaries are below average for an analyst firm, a lot of title inflation, work environment has lots of internal clicks, company has lost focus on meeting needs of clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Research does not address client needs, need to re-focus.

I worked at Kantar Retail full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Big analyst classes, team environment, formal training program. Top clients in the industry. Team environment and very nice, hard working people who are very smart and went to good schools.

    Cons

There is high turnover and big analyst classes with people straight out of college, so most of the people you interact with are your own age and experience. Analysts are work horses and do a lot of data crunching, and seem to be a bit expendable. Some positions will allow for a lot of client facing, but the main con is the lack of interface with upper level consultants.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not categorize analysts so early in the process into one of the four groups. Analysts should be put on several projects and be guided towards their strengths. There should be more oversite by older consultants and associates over analyst activities.

    I worked at Kantar Retail

    Pros

Smart people drive a fast-moving business forward and are responsible for generating their own insights and capabilities. Support is there, but you succeed at Kantar Retail by building your own brand and winning for your clients.

    Cons

Little opportunity for advancement once you hit 3-5 year mark; most analysts go on to get MBAs so if that's not for you, you'll need to do some soul searching

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be careful in the continued transition into Kantar Retail to not lose the essence of what the original companies represented.
