Pros
Benefits are good, 401(k), medical, dental, and Gift of Knowledge programs are all fantastic. Definitely take advantage of their Gift of Knowledge to earn a higher degree.
Cons
Too disjointed to organize itself effectively, at least for the subsidiaries they owned. Too slow to recognize different business units require different ways to manage. They manage as though all businesses ought to follow the same structure, benefits, and technological standards.
Advice to Senior Management
Accelerated growth from a few middle-to-upper management decisions may prove outstanding for the bottom line, and the careers for said management, in the short-term; yet, the long term sustainability of those decisions ARE disastrous. Steady, smart growth with always the focus on student outcomes from their entire experience at Kaplan is always the priority. That experience includes, but not limited to, the very first call they receive from a recruiter to their last conversation after they graduate with a good, better paying job.
Pros
Kaplan was a ton of work however I felt that the company was cognizant of how much they were asking.
Cons
The fact that they knew how much work it took and yet still were inflexible re: work/life balance was unsettling.
Advice to Senior Management
Sales is not the only thing to focus on. While it is important, it is not the only way to evaluate employees.
Pros
Great team, decent benefits, and a general feel good company to work for. Many people there for many years, so wealth of knowledge.
Cons
Lack of support and competence from the top at times, and lack of work life balance at times. Great otherwise.
Advice to Senior Management
No words to offer since the office in NY was relocated to GA and therefore advice is no longer relevant.
Pros
Flexible work hours, treated with respect, recognized for hard work, opportunity to learn new aspects of the job
Cons

Advice to Senior Management
better training/communication to new employees
Pros
Average benefits and offers good pay for employees. Depending on the department, there might be opportunities to advance up and increase earnings.
Cons
Doesn't seem to value employees, has become too corporate for a college or university setting. Communication is clearly a problem from top management on down and vice versa.
Pros
* Good pay & benefits for an entry level job
* Free gourmet coffee
* Nice view from the skyscraper
Cons
* Disorganized manager & unsure of procedure themselves, then blame the new employee for mistakes.
* Clique-ish, favoritist work culture.
Advice to Senior Management
A manager who is in training herself should NOT be placed to train a new employee.
Pros

Cons
you may have a pressure of working here

Poor leadership and lack of dedicated resources makes it difficult to complete even the smallest tasks.
Advice to Senior Management
Being risk averse has hurt the company.
Pros
Great place to work, lots of good energy and great people.
One of the only firms hiring during the crisis.

Get in more local grads and help them grow from the group up
