I have been working at Kaplan University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, great leadership team, amazing support and a company with high integrity toward education and student welfare.

    Cons

Upward mobility is limited due to the small size of the campus, but lateral steps are possible and transfers to other campuses internally.

I worked at Kaplan University full-time

    Pros

Teaches you how to multi-task Multiple training opportunities and programs Free tuition Great benefits Competitive Salary

    Cons

Travel policy is horrible. No corporate card. Must pay upfront to get reimbursed. Bureaucratic promotions Will give you a title with a job description, but have you filling in for all the roles that were laid off or fired instead of promoting you or paying you for that role Communication is a failure; Sneaky tactics on firing people Will allow those who don't work to stay in their role w/ no corrective action, and make the busy bees make up for what that person doesn't do --shifting workload Only room for Growth in Florida offices; none in Chicago or other locations

    Advice to Management

Improve employee morale Make work exciting to go to Be more engaging Divide the work as evenly as possible and don't take advantage of the hard workers without incentives to continue to work hard

  3. Corporate can't help but step on your toes, they cut jobs left and right and pretend to value their employees.

    Pros

Local campus employees are great and supportive, decent benefits, great holidays. Tuition is free with the right GPA which pays off big.

    Cons

Poor job security, you never know when your job will get cut. The pay isn't outstanding. The company favors it's online division more then it's other entities.

    Advice to Management

The attempts to value employees are cute, but we'd rather see things we care about like flexibility, money and job security.
