    Pros

Always winning new contracts. Like the work atmosphere. Feel like they take care of employees.

    Cons

Would like 401k sharing option - they do have 401k saving plan though.

    Advice to Management

    none

I have been working at Katmai Government Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting on-call work. Fine fit of tasks with my background, interests, and skill-sets to provide a USMC organization in VA with on-site support services during several certification exercises of USMC-resourced Security Cooperation Teams (SCT) deploying for duty as advisors, trainers, and "force modernizers" of their foreign military counterparts in Arabic-prevalent host countries in the CENTCOM AOR.

    Cons

Very poor corporate communication between periodic assignments. When the East Coast-based branch of the Defense Training Services (DTS) of this company lost its USMC contract, DTS abruptly disbanded its entire Live Training Division, without notification of its full-time / on-call / part-time employees who were located any distance away from the DTS regional corporate headquarters in Florida. No answers for over a year+ to numerous email queries or voice-mails requesting details on status and the road ahead, if any. Disappointing and saddening experience with a firm which seemed to have such business potential.

    Advice to Management

Show yourselves, as management disappeared when the division was disbanded and has remained invisible.

    Pros

Decent compensation, other contractors have tremendous experience & skill, and share knowledge.

    Cons

False promises in regard to upcoming contracts, poor management, lack of communication, poor management of logistics. I've never had contact with a regional entity or senior management. Therefore, these issues might be just at a local site level.

    Advice to Management

Remember the people you contract with have specialized skills and are not a-dime-a-dozen like you think.

Nepotism. Lack of long term strategy. Poor Business Development Prospects. Hand-to-mouth approach to cash-flow management.
