Pros
I have worked there for over 13 years, first 2 years were contract. With a good relationship with manager, motivation for doing work well is high.
Cons
I have found over the years that at times a person is promoted who has good skills except for administrative or poor personality (problems with a high ego with disregard to others).
Pros
Katz Group offered an excellent stepping stone in career advancement; nothing's better on a resume than management experience at a pharmacy!
The staff are compromising and willing to make things work, as long as you have an excellent rapport with them.
Cons
I was on a salary contract, and my average week included several hours of unpaid overtime that included at least one, twelve-thirteen hour day a week. This company really milks the most our of their management.
There's a lack of respect from higher management as well, we're expected to keep profits flowing with reduced hours, we're overworked and unpaid.
Advice to Senior Management
I recall an extremely high turnover rate for management, if you wish to lower the turnover rate I would suggest scrapping the 100% management coverage during business hours, or at the very least hiring 2 Assistant Managers per store. It's not fair or even legal for us to have to spend 12 to 13 hours at a store with no official lunch.
Pros
people are generally great to work with, overall a good company to work for with good benefits package
Cons
hours are too long for managers and assistants for little compensation
Advice to Senior Management
they need to take better care of their management teams and better care in selecting those being promoted to management positions and need better support for managers and assistants when things start to go wrong instead of waiting until problem get s out of hand.primary concern of company is bottom line and not managers or staff which are the life blood of all companys and it's number one asset
Pros
Fast-paced, customer care is very important, other staff members were excellent, team atmosphere but this will depend on which pharmacy you work at
Cons
management at times more focused on bottom line over patient care, wages are quite sticky wage grid makes raises hard to come by, may have to work longer hours without OT
Advice to Senior Management
Take care of your employees and customers the rest will take care of itself... As long management is making terrible choices
Pros
There are many opportunities for those who are smart, hardworking and driven.
Cons
It is experiencing many growing pains, so one has to be very patient.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within more will help improve company morale.
