I have been working at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander
Pros – The offices are in a fabulous location and are a great environment to work in. Technology available to us is superb and the staff feel well looked after. The benefits package is generous and comprehensive and even in the credit crunch afflicted markets of 2008, everything is done to keep as many of us on as possible.
Cons – New management that lack the Scandinavian approach are making a much less human environment. However, it still beats most places I've worked in.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep the original feel that created this wonderful company. You could lose so much by becoming like the Deutches and Morgan Stanleys out there.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I worked at Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander full-time for more than 5 years
Pros – Most friendly office ever worked in, great spirit in the office with camaraderie throughout the firm.
Was a small enough enterprise to know everyone.
Cons – Lack of management understaing of the investment management business, cross selling to those that are being lent money does not work.
Model portfolio way does not fit every PM or client.
Serial failing management.
Advice to Senior Management – Just because someone has failed before does not mean that they may not fail again.
Other failings have made it to the press.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
