Current Employee – been working at Keenan & Associates full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Employee-owned company
Great communication throughout the organization
Employees have a voice and make a difference
Wellness program, great benefits in a time where everyone else is cutting benefits
Company gives back to the community and encourages us to do so as well
Cons – Wish there was an onsite gym
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great communication with employees. I like to know what is going on at the company and the good stuff we hear makes me feel proud to work here.

Pros – Good work experience.
Fair promotion policy
Used to be very family oriented.
Cons – Company only as good as Senior Management and that has definitely gone down hill.
Not as generous as in past years.
As in any company, highly political and a lot of back biting.
Advice to Senior Management – you have lost sight of what John Keenan had envisioned when he first started the company.

Pros – Keenan is a great place to work for many reasons. Great benefits, great people, lots of opportunities for growth, ESOP, 401K matching, wellness programs like Thinner Winner, Charity Drives, overall community involvement. It sounds trite but it really is like a family. We are privately held and you can tell.
Cons – Sometimes Torrance is not the easiest location for people to commute to if they live outside the South Bay, but that is really a problem throughout CA.

Current Employee – been working at Keenan & Associates
Pros – Keenan understands the balance of work/family life. We do a lot of really nice things for our employee's, like company picnic's, American Express Gift Checks at 4th of July, Halloween Celebration.
Cons – It's a tough company to work for, regardless of how much insurance experience you have, only because Keenan is so specialized in what we do. Maybe have a Keenan 101 program developed for those in Sales and Service to ensure that they can handle the workload of our clients.

Current Employee – been working at Keenan & Associates
Pros – Keenan offers great benefits and compensation. Co workers are friendly and easy to work with. Managers are approachable and responsive to the needs of employees.
Cons – Pay raises are given as a percent of current salary. A 2% salary increase for an executive is a car payment each month; for an entry level position it's not even a tank of gas a month.

Current Employee – been working at Keenan & Associates
Pros – Keenan is transparent; you know the direction of the company and what part you play. The majority of promotions from within. Company name recognition, learned and invaluable skillset. Flexibility, benefits and private company.
Cons – Although a considerable amount is invested in internal technology it still sorely lacks. Very long hours and employees handle multiple job roles. Consistent training.
Advice to Senior Management – Evaluate employees job capacity and much more training needs to be made available
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
