    Pros

Really good people. They have great training programs. High integrity to do the right thing. Open environment for sharing of ideas etc. Compensation was competitive for roles. Generally work life balance if fair. Over time this has shifted to more work less family time. it really depends on which leader is in place.

    Cons

Budgets tend to be lean. Also if you are not of the good old boy network you were overlooked despite favorable business results. Living in Battle Creek is tough if you are use to a more metropolitan area. Also if you are a person of color it is very difficult to be fully accepted by the community. They talk about developing their people but overall they develop few stars. This is evident in their lack of bench talent.

    Pros

Casual atmosphere, people are a pleasure to work with. Leadership is down to earth, open door policy.

    Cons

Depending on where you live and if you are relocatable, jobs may not be available to continue your career path. Starting as an admin assistant has really been difficult moving out of the position unless you have a higher education.

I have been working at Kellogg Company part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

As a merchandiser, the job is really easy. It's a matter of rotating products by date and making sure the displays look nice. The other Kellogg employees are very nice and welcoming to those just coming on board. Also, extremely flexible hours especially if you're in school and it pays decent for a job that doesn't require experience. At first, all the products look the same but it'll get easier about a month in

    Cons

The days can be extremely long & exhausting depending on how efficient you work especially if the truck load comes in. Some stores you go to, you may be dealing with miserable employees/customers which makes the job even more stressful. Nearly impossible to make other plans (I.e get a second job) since your schedule is given to you the night before or day of. Not much room for growth/advancement

    Pros

Excellent products, resources, and brand strength. It really felt like I ran my own business. Had an excellent team dynamic with many supports.

    Cons

One of my district managers was a micromanager, who called too often and interjected unnecessarily during some sales calls.

I worked at Kellogg Company part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

For a part time position, the company pays pretty well. The full time merchandisers, whom I worked under, seemed very appreciative of all my work.

    Cons

There is a lot of driving around. You receive paid drive time; however, competing companies pay both drive time and mileage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The upper management expects too much from full time merchandisers.
