I have been working at Kenandy

    Pros

They have a great dev team. It is a great product and an amazing place to grow and build your career. The Product Managers are very easy to work with. The entire company is void of office politics, which is a big positive.

    Cons

The workload can be challenging, but it's a startup, thats the fun part.

I have been working at Kenandy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It's been over a year and this company rocks!

    - Great people and environment. Co-workers are talented and friendly.
    - Social gatherings are very fun and bring out the best in all of us!
    - Tahoe trip, bowling, happy hour celebrations, and more
    - Very popular Keurig, expresso machine, fully stocked coffee & teas, sodas, smoothies, fruits, snacks, and much more.
    - The vision of the company and leadership is incredible. Led by Sandy Kurtzig, "The Mother of Silicon Valley"
    - A true disruptive technology. Bringing ERP, the heart and lungs of a company, to the cloud by natively building it on the Salesforce platform.
    - Career growth opportunities, several co-workers have been promoted recently.

    It's the place to be!

    Cons

Not much at this point. Extremely satisfied at the moment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I worked at Kenandy

    Pros

    Meet some really great people.

    Cons

If you dont drink the CEO's koolaid then you are out. Like the other review its very top heavy, no one lets you do your job. You are dictated your job by someone who has been out of the game for 30 years.

    I worked at Kenandy

    Pros

Some good hardworking and friendly people in the company
Good office. Nice laptops and monitors to go along for the work.

    Cons

    No work life balance
Non competitive salaries with bare minimum benefits
More of a consulting job shop implementing things for customers than being a product development company
Work culture is not open and very top down with no room to voice any opinions and concerns.
Employees are dictated as to what they are supposed to do even though they might be SME's in the areas that they have been hired for.
    Lot of attrition.

The Question is not "Why the cloud?" or "Why the SFDC Platform", The Question is "Why Kenandy?"

I worked at Kenandy full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Decent office for a start up
    Unlimited snacks and drinks
Company is constantly changing, which provides opportunity for career growth
In a sector that will grow (cloud ERP)
    Lightweight solution

    Cons

    Location - Redwood Shores
Company is constantly changing: Customer Message, Company Direction, Product Roadmap, Internal Hierarchy
Solution is lightweight, but lacks a lot of functionality; customer scope is VERY small
Compared to its major competitors, a very small install base; not a sector leader
SFDC Platform does not mean Kenandy integrates seamlessly to any other SFDC application

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your product. Pour money into development. Stop CHASING big deals. Do NOT make promises you cannot keep. The platform is NOT your secret sauce.

    Focus on your product -
ERP is vast, complicated, and very technical. Kenandy cannot do it all, so stop trying. The solution is 1 micrometer deep, and a light-year wide. Pick a industry, dive deep, and own a particular function or module.

    Pour money into development -
Customers will ask the hard questions. You can only pitch the "high level" view for a finite time period. At some point someone will start asking the hard questions around functionality. Be ready to show how and why Kenandy is innovative.

    Stop CHASING big deals-
Kenandy lacks the functionality to support enterprise level corporations. By chasing BIG deals, your committing a lopsided amount of resources to companies that fundamentally cannot be successfully supported.

Do NOT make promises you cannot keep-
Sign a customer, define a timeline, define a statement of work and execute flawlessly. Doing whatever it takes to get a deal; IE "fake it till you make it" is a recipe for failure. This does not work in a global world. Customers will figure it out, drop your solution, and eventually you will develop a negative reputation.

The platform is NOT your secret sauce-
Other companies use the SFDC platform. Your secret sauce should be how Kenandy handles a specific process differently, more effectively and more efficiently. Being innovative is not leveraging a platform that ANYONE can develop on.

Ultimately, no startup is perfect. Kenandy has its fair share of challenges. Focus on developing the best possible solution you can.

I worked at Kenandy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - There are a lot of good employees in the company but they would be better served at more successful organizations
    - ERP is a complex space and you have the opportunity to learn about the space

    Cons

    - Development/Engineering teams are very underpaid
    - Leadership team is arrogant, indirect and out of touch with modern business and with their own product/employees
    - The company has exhibited very little success and has seen a lot of lost deals and internal attrition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Place all resources into developing the product and focus on creating an environment where employees aren't AFRAID of the leadership.

    - Don't waste time or burn any more relationships trying to sell an unfinished product

    - Give employees the resources and TRUST to complete the jobs they are paid to do.
