Kenexa Anonymous:   (Current Employee)

Pros

some good practical people and approaches in the assessment business

Cons

Working for Kenexa in a falling market is an extremely uncomfortable place. Lack of clarity of objectives and inexperience of senior mgt is obvious

Advice to Senior Management

Integrate your acquisitions.Clients in Europe want experts and language speakers from the home country, so letting go many of your employeees in European countries will not help when pitching for these accounts

Kenexa Product Manager in Waltham, MA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

Interesting and challenging work, good people to work with. Company is open to hearing all ideas, open environment to share your thoughts.

Cons

Opportunities for career growth mainly seem to involve global travel..the often also seem to involve being connected with the right people.

Advice to Senior Management

Invest in the areas of the company that are strong and growing rather than just looking at top line. Don't make short term decision.

Pros

Kenexa culture and vision line up with my values. Work hard, play hard is really practiced, and personal committment to projects, deadlines and promises is the norm. Also, global interaction is easy, people in offices worldwide are excited to connect with like-minded individuals on topics and projects.

Cons

processes and systems are generally missing or have gaps. Internal education is understaffed.
Payroll, HR and Benefits are in sepreate kingdoms, and make taking maternity leave a puzzle.

50 hours is the low end of a normal week for salary employees.

Advice to Senior Management

Be cautious about taking the branding customer focus so far that it traps people into job descriptions, blocking 10exa #6: opportunity exists, and #7 take inititative. if you over-structure the job responsibilities, you will hurt innovation and itititative, as they won't be rewarded (what you measure matters.)

Pros

The best reason to work here would be your co-workers and the flexibility that having web based solutions provide.

Cons

MANAGEMENT has no clue and does things for one thing and one thing only, the bottom line.

Advice to Senior Management

Pros

Kenexa present some wonderfull opportunities to work with some great clients.

Cons

If you work remotely or for any one of their clients in an on-site role (yes, in direct contact with Kenexa's customer) be ready to feel like a "child nobody wants". Communication and management experience on major projects is severly lacking and at times hostile and condescendng when communicated from the Kenexa Project Leaders. If primary work location is anywhere outside of the Kenexa offices do not expect to have any Kenexa corporate advocates on your behalf. Very Very clique oriented and disrespectful at times.

Advice to Senior Management

Please train them properly. The middle management arm on the RPO side of the house is severly lacking in the team management skills required to make your organization successful.

If you show initiative here you can make a career for yourself using your talents. Kenexa is great about letting you find a place for your

Cons

It is often unclear who to go to for answers. We don't have job titles here. Senior Mgmt seems to be learning on the job.

Advice to Senior Management

Really look at what is going on in the industry. Find your focus and never stray.

Kenexa Product Manager in Waltham, MA:   (Current Employee)

Pros

I enjoy working with my team members. Momentum continues to build toward making this a great place to work. Some flexibility with work schedule although it still depends upon who you report to.

Cons

As with any large corporate organization, it is a challenge to juggle managing existing programs and pursuing innovation. As a software company in Greater Boston, Kenexa should leverage the availablae new technologies to make the products stand out from the competition. Compensation is not competitive and there is no reimbursement for continued education, hence, there is no strong incentives to innovate.

Advice to Senior Management

Invest is current employees by providing them with or requiring them to learn new technologies. Create cross-devision teams to improve communications across the company.
