I have been working at Kenexa full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Kenexa has such a strong culture - it is filled with smart, ambitious people who work very hard, but it is still a fun, lighthearted place to work at the same time. You are recognized for your contributions, and it is easy to feel that your work is making a difference.

    Cons

Many people at Kenexa work remotely which has a unique set of challenges and frustrations.

I have been working at Kenexa full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    -Lots of online resources available
    -Brass Ring ATS
-Caring management when it comes to personal issues.
    -Fast paced environment
    -Option to work from home

    Cons

-Upper management seems to cater more to men
-PTO - Work Life Balance. If you don't use PTO by the end of the year there is no roll over
    -Pay is not competitive
-Sometimes the goals set aren't reachable
-Not enough kudos and accolades for top performers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to take a more active involvement with employees. There is not enough incentive to be a top performer when you don't receive any feedback or accolades.

I have been working at Kenexa full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Since I started here a couple of months ago, I have had nothing but great training and great opportunities for advancement. IBM acquired Kenexa in April of 2013 and I think it means great things for Kenexa. I look forward to the all of the learning and training through IBM and the many global opportunities. This is a great place to get your foot in the door with IBM and learn all you can to develop your career. I'm not sure about these other reviewers, but the management team is the cat's pajamas in the Frisco office.

    Cons

The pay could be better, but there are programs in place to move you forward and it's really about how far you want to take yourself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

My manager is fantastic. He knows how to influence and lead without authority and leads a successful team. Keep on doin' your thing.

    Pros

If you get on a great account you can have wonderful work life balance

    Cons

Pay is awful. Rather hiring outside the country instead of promote.

I worked at Kenexa full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Kenexa had a good foundation of wanting to provide the best customer service in the industry, which would make them a differentiator amongst competitors, however, it was difficult to provide that service with the heavy workloads we all carried.
Offer full suite of talent acquisition and management tools, excluding HRIS.
BrassRing ATS is a leading product in the market that Kenexa obtained through acquisition.

    Cons

No work/life balance - Long hours with assigned project/clients across multiple time zones, domestically and internationally. 50-60 hour workweeks the norm, with 50 being the expectation for exempt employees. There were always promises of adding more staff to take some of the workload, but it seemed that employees quit faster than they could hire or requisitions were pulled. CEO always talking about the BHAG (big, hairy, audacious goal) that would make the company and him successful, with nothing in it for employees. Healthcare coverage not very good and expensive. Employees were told that although there was no tuition reimbursement, there were funds allocated for every department but then when reimbursement requested, was told that there was no budget. Company is known in the industry for low pay with little to no merit or COL increases. Be prepared to make the same salary after being with the company for several years with no bonuses. Although the company does pay them, the criteria for determining is subjective with no tie to performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at other successful software companies and you will see that their employees are taken care of. They have work/life balance, good benefits and they feel valued in their company. When I was at Kenexa, I felt more like a number that could contribute to the bottom line and not like a real person with a family and a life outside of work.

I have been working at Kenexa full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

A company where you get to work with big clients, big money, and big excitement. Everyone means well. IBM integration is interesting, but beyond a few new technologies and policies - hard to tell where it will land.

    Cons

Very experienced consultants treated like second class citizens and pushed around by sales and operations. Weird product segmentation and not great leadership. Most leaders in the Assessment and Survey side are out of touch with new trends and technology. But that doesn't matter much as IBM will eventually change the game.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Shake up the leadership and identify a new breed. You have some really amazing talent, but you over work the best with day-to-day stuff and allow sales to set-up no win situations.
