    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Kennametal full-time

    Pros

Great people to work with, moving in the right direction with regards to common goals, new CEO has a realistic assessment of the current status of the business.

    Cons

The company got too big too fast and the organizational approach did not suit customer focus. Many long term professionals have either left or will soon be retiring and there needs to be a solid plan to prepare replacements.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the future with respect to equipment, people, and data technology. Require and support professional alignment as well as consider more effective organizational structure. Customer service needs to be located in the areas they support as well as HR services.

I have been working at Kennametal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Kennametal tries to listen and take care of it's employees, but sometimes doesn't have the proper tools to do so. Tuition reimbursement is available, and higher ups value your opinion and want you to step up and take on responsibilities. Training opportunities are available if you ask.

    Cons

Very headquarter centered, departments aren't as aligned as they should be outside of hitting target numbers. Some big egos, but most are very friendly.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget about the little people interacting with customers on a daily basis. Some people are doing big things and not getting the appropriate level of recognition or promotion.
