University that cares about its employees

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Kennesaw, GA

I have been working at Kennesaw State University full-time for less than a year

ProsI love the work culture here. They throw in perks when they can, are flexible about time and have a range of benefits (like a rideshare program, employee fitness center, retirement plan, tuition assistance program, etc.).

ConsI've heard the salaries aren't as high as they should be, but being new to higher ed, I can't speak to that. Parking is an extra cost ($23 for standard). I'm still new here so perhaps more cons will come out later?

Advice to Senior ManagementThe rideshare program could be more robust. Perhaps more incentives for green commutes? Other than that, continue to value your employees as you do now. And never get rid of comp time. That really shows that you care about our time and our work/life balance.

ConsCan get a little boring on slow nights. Not much responsibility unless something bad happens and you have to call management,

Advice to Senior ManagementSwitch up roles every once and a while perhaps. Also connect student recreation life with the gym.
