    Pros

    1) Great growth opportunities with managers that are for the most part kind and caring. 2) Good benefits and flexibility. 3) Decent wages for the area.

    Cons

    1) Projects are analyzed to death... Literally they usually die or are changed any number of times with most not launching. 2) HR.. HR... HR.. So much HR that nothing gets completed and there is always a reason not to do something (see above). 3) Work falls to few people. Meaning some work hard to move forward while others coast. 4) Many people that are part time and do not have that same commitment to the cause.

    Advice to Management

Keeping core people is important. This will not happen when the future looks bleak and there is a lack of horse power. The result is an atrophying group of people that have worked one way and want no part of change. Make sure you understand what is really happening in your organization and make sure that people feel their is a future. Finally look at the people you have and decide which ones are dragging down progress.

This company provided a good variety of work in the graphics field.

    Pros

Independence...really have the opportunity to make a lot of money if you actually work. Fun work atmosphere coworkers esp in the sales department really look out for each other and are always looking for new opportunities

    Cons

A lot of competition within the industry that generally just undercut your prices and flat out lie about their circulation

    Pros

Dogged dedication to reporting local news. Little interference with the direction of beat reporting. Bottomless news hole for worthwhile stories. Exposure to a wide range of subjects.

    Cons

Slow to take advantage of new technology. New ideas often wither on the vine or disappear in a lengthy consideration process. Not immune to layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Letting some new ideas incubate longer or benefit from greater support may do some good for newsroom morale and strengthen the paper's standing with savvy readers.

    Pros

Company encompasses change and focuses on innovating its products and services.

    Cons

Tasks conducted did not focus on improving client relations and customer service. Very little culture, practically no values. Having a conflicted opinion hinders growth opportunities with middle management.

    Advice to Management

When asking employees for input or ideas - take the time to actually listen to them. Do not lie to your employees, be direct, and don't elude confrontations - it creates an unfavorable environment for everyone.
