ProsEstablished company with long standing channel partner relationships. Some brand recognition.

ConsNo desire to gain insights on consumer needs and problems to deliver market innovation and value. Damaged brand, with no desire to put in effort to repair.

Advice to Senior ManagementOperational excellence is not a sustainable strategy. Neither is a buy-sell mentality.

ProsBenefits are ok and the lower level employees are hard working and have great ideas.

ConsManagement constantly changing direction and rarely do individual contributors get recognized for hard work, people in "powerful" positions treat employees very poorly simply because they can.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue your employees

Plenty of great people left the company due to upper management and executive poor decision making.

I worked at Kensington

ProsBenefits, vacation, 401k - that's about it.

ConsDue to silo management style decision making, many people have thrown in the towel because it caused so much flux and stress in the company. Dysfunctional organization, doesn't have a strategy, management don't care to stick or implement processes and make jobs efficient. Just get it done - somehow and right away! Some people are very disrespectful and have big egos. Wouldn't recommend working here, but if you do - good luck.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your game plan in sync with all stakeholders and stop wasting time when things needs to get done.

This company lost its way

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Kensington full-time for more than 5 years

Prosgood dedicated lower tier people

Consthey make stupid decisions putting the wrong people in charge. They motivate the lower level employees by threatening to move their jobs away to the corporate office or outsource them altogether. Force them to improve metrics without understanding what is necessary to do the job and all around step on the little people while treating them like scum.

Advice to Senior Managementnone, its a lost cause, you dont listen to your employees now, theres nothing to get you out of your way of thinking. The CEO is great when hes in the office but the people he left in charge are not minding the ship.

ProsGood Products; People from various backgrounds; The company is small enough to make an impact on their growth; fair benefits.

ConsThe top management does not present a clear picture of future direction; they do not present themselves as a cohesive team.

Advice to Senior ManagementEngage employees in the discussions and process of prioritizing areas for improvement; Put more emphasis on focusing at how to improve externally rather than constantly reviewing internal powerpoints.
