Pros – Young staff, flexible hours, many different responsibilities and positions can make some days more interesting, free movies when not working during available hours.
Cons – Low pay, aggressive and lewd management, high employee turnover rate, some responsibilities lie in a gray zone of legality, dirty conditions, long hours with only one short break.

Pros – Currently there is a good Chef and Souse Chef in the kitchen at the lobby lounge. They have good ideas, ask for contributions to the menu and do a good job training and teaching professional kitchen skills.
When I first started I was with other culinary graduates and this was a fun and fantastic first job in the industry.
Cons – Where to start? Devaluation of employees who are not only treated like commodities but are reminded of it by upper management. The restaurant, when I started, was manned by culinary school graduates who trained for their position in the kitchen. In a years time they are all gone. It is the management's view that there is no difference between a trained culinary worker and an untrained candy counter worker. In fact management has made it known they feel there is no difference between the concession stand and the restaurant.
No raises are given, EVER. This is due upper management's belief that anybody is trainable and it's easier to have a revolving door of new employees than to reward and keep the ones that do a good job.
New policy to cut all non-management workers hours back to 29 per week so the company doesn't have to pay into Obama care. So where I was full time I am now barely part time.
As a result of these things the quality of cooks has suffered and the quality of food preparation has suffered which, for what the restaurant asks, will start driving away customers.
Advice to Senior Management – Pay a decent wage. Value your good employees and try to keep them at all costs. Put politics aside and learn how to work within the system rather than skirt responsibility.

Pros – They will hire pretty much anyone. They can be flexible with your schedule.
Cons – They will hire pretty much anyone and this is very apparent in managerial positions. They are open on all holidays and will expect you to work some. They play favorites with hours that are given. If you are under 18 they pay less than minimum wage.
Advice to Senior Management – Make sure that your managers are being fair.

Pros – free movies somewhat simple job requirements
Cons – no employee appreciation, uncaring disillusioned workforce, Very cheap upper-management would rather fire and replace a existing employee than give a raise or adjust schedule.
once you reach middle management there is almost no opportunity for further growth or even raises.
Company has been promising a bonus program for 3 years with no sign of actually following through with it.
Advice to Senior Management – pay your employees and listen to them once and a while and a little employee appreciation goes a long way

Pros – Movie theaters are pretty fun to work at. There are a lot of coworkers and you get to know a lot of people in your area. Free Movies is an extra perk. You and a friend or you and your parents can get in for free. If you are older and have a good work ethic chances are decent at becoming a manager. Some of the managers are really cool. And even though some are not many are working at one time so you can probably choose to go to one of the nicer ones with any problems. Ushing is one of the funnest jobs in my opinion. It's easy to get a job there even with no prior experience and they hire young. As young as 15 years old.
Cons – The pay is usually minimum wage and raises are less than a dollar. You have to either be older and work really hard or you have to work there for a while before you get a raise. Some managers are mean and strict. Everyone is expected to work weekends and holidays. The theater is open EVERY day of the year and working christmas is horrible. You also get little respect from customers, but some are nice. The prices are pretty high so a lot of them are on edge. Greeting is by far the worst job. People are fired/quit regularly (usually for not showing up) and so new people are common, and they have to be trained. They also tend to act like they know more than you and boss people around.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of cone cups and get cups with flat bottoms. Even though we give out free refills we could give out clear cups and not give out soda in the clear cups. Also instead of giving out candy prizes a couple times a year we should have a staff party or something. That's obviously optional..

Pros – Worked as a cashier in high school. Easy job: serve the food, clean up messes, and restock the supplies. Very flexible with hours and school. I got time off and management was nice to me. I got to watch free movies, after a 3 week waiting period.
Cons – No pay raises. If you're diligent with your work, then they will use you to do all the tasks. Sometimes overworked. Sometimes, store management would harp on you when regional management would harp on them. Kinda weird.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire better employees and pay us a competitive salary. Also, make sure the work is equitably distributed among the employees.

Pros – Free movies only when permitted, Flexible schedules, Easy work
Cons – B.S hours I gave them 30 hours availability and they only scheduled me 3.5 hours 2 weeks straight and never went to both days because my commute is not worth $20 a day/week. And the 1st week they gave 28 hours so it just doesn't make sense. And I know I've doing a good job because I have prior movie theater experience at AMC( a much better theater for employess). Overstaffed 120 employess. Lots of unecessary rules. I'm a college student and I've had a lot of jobs and this has been the worst of the worst.
Advice to Senior Management – Get over yourself and I've seen The Kerasotes in person too. Don't bother opening up another theater in NJ or NYC cuz ain't nobody down for that mess.

Pros – The job did pay and the hours were very flexible. I was able to come back during breaks from school (I worked there as a shift manager during college). My boss never had problems with that. The people, for the most part, made even the poor aspects more enjoyable.
Cons – The pay isn't great and I've received hints that it remains not so great as you go further up in management. The hours are also depressing... you must work weekends.
Advice to Senior Management – Look more into employee compensation, even for floor staff. If you pay more, you can keep the better employees.

Pros – I really like having a flexible schedule. This makes it easy to get 32+ hours a week and still go to college. This is what all our shift managers are doing except one, as well as a few members of the floor staff. At Kerasotes the managers (mostly shift managers) do all the projection work, whict most really enjoy. It's nice to have that combination of being a manager and running the place then work as the projectionist. Building film is pretty awesome too and probably the coolest part of my job is getting paid to screen movies (making sure we spliced correctly and that there is no damage to the film) This part really depends on the location, but it seems like movie theaters usually have staff that get along real well.
Cons – Benfits are only available for asst. managers and up, so not the floor staff or shift managers. No holiday 1.5x payrate and overtimed is frowned upon BIG TIME! This place can get really busy too!
Advice to Senior Management – Fine movie theater company, I am thankful I have a job even in the first place, and it is one I can look forward to most of the time. It's really the benfits that I am concerned about.
