Ketchum really cares about its people and leadership works hard to promote a strong culture.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat people and fun (but hard-working) atmosphere. There is opportunity to work with great clients and leadership is good at matching assignments to passion.

ConsThere isn't a particularly strong culture of post-work gatherings of employees; while people enjoy colleagues' company at work, most people go their separate ways after work rather than socialize with one another. I would consider this a minor criticism, however.

    Project Manager (Current Employee)

ProsEveryone who works here is great, they allow you to grow in areas that interest you, you have flexibility to request to work on certain clients or pursue passions and did I mention everyone is awesome?

ConsOld school, not enough free beer

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to be less corporate feeling with the old school structures.

-Really great culture, love the CEO
-Milestones of the month are great

Not the place to be if you have any self-respect.

    ACD/CD (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsMost of the people seem nice, considering it's a PR & Marketing company. Most staff seems more junior and inexperienced than their titles would imply.

ConsVery disorganized & understaffed. Billing to a client is more important than producing good work - even half an hour of downtime will cause a call from HR/Finance to find out exactly why. Out of touch managers, at least on the digital side, who seem to have trouble managing even a small team with a not especially heavy workload.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your acts together, or good people will stop walking through the door - assuming filling seats isn't more important than people interested in doing good work, that is.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Resistant to change

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

ProsIt's a pleasantly informal environment with many nice people. It's a big important name in the industry, and they have some fun accounts.

ConsKetchum is incredibly hierarchical, and combined with my observation that success and promotions up the ladder are nepotistic and tenure-based, it's a hard company to succeed in from the middle. There are many people there who should have been fired long ago; they get by on knowing the system, but not necessarily having knowledge beyond the company walls. This problem goes several levels up. All around, employees are more preoccupied with appearances and covering their own hides than producing good work. It means that things move slowly, the works mucked up with people-pleasing and side-stepping direct solutions.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo better to see the potential in everyone. Look beyond titles and focus on doing good work. Embrace change.
