    Pros

Great place to work. The Techworks Business Incubator was a great place to volunteer and work.

    Cons

None. The work was important, and had a great impact on the area business environment.

    Advice to Management

    Bring back Teckworks

    Pros

Paid for my graduate classes. Opportunity to grow & change in teaching methods as time went on.

    Cons

Not much supervision and communication between class professors & me teaching labs so material being covered would not also match up week to week between class & labs. Also very low pay. Barely enough for housing & food.

    Advice to Management

Get TA's more involved. Willing & wanting to help out.

    Pros

Generally the people that work their are great. If there is a project you want to do, you typically are allowed to do it.

    Cons

Morale is unusually low and sometimes work loads become unreasonable so things get put off until someone higher up panics and request them to get done. Resources to get things done are low. Pay is below average.

    Advice to Management

Morale is important. Say encouraging things once in a while.

  7. Great place to work!!

I have been working at Kettering University

    Pros

We have a lot of freedom and flexibility. If we didn't, it would not be a great place to work. Most of us work very hard so it's nice to be able to have the flexibility. I believe the absentee rate would be very high leaving others to pick up slack - not a good thing which would result in resentment. Love the students!!

    Cons

Although our raises have been very minimal, I credit them to our current leader. These minimal raises are better than nothing. We went 8 years without even a thank you. In a few other depts, some employees get away with doing nothing all day every day and are not held accountable for anything. Their own bosses fear them.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Consistent hours, easy to get substitutes if you know you can't make your shift, flexible if you are very sick and can't make your shift.

    Cons

Don't always get enough hours or the hours I want.

    Pros

As the former GMI the school is in the top ten for engineering and known world wide. The benefit package is great. Allotted time off is another perk.

    Cons

Wages are poor and way below national average for position. Too much micromanaging by upper management. Those who work and dedicate themselves to the institute are not rewarded. Very poor communication and leadership. Those who don't work to their potential are not disciplined. No follow though with upper management with issues or concerns.

    Advice to Management

Allow managers to manage and have upper management concentrate on increasing enrollment. instead upper management goes over the department manager's head without their knowledge and re direct their department duties or projects.

    Pros

Small campus - you get to know everyone just like family, including the students. Some of the perks are great, such as the rec center - and having access to use it

    Cons

Just like family - there's usually a bad seed. Low pay, very little advancement. New administration is making changes frequently and creating a very unsettled work environment. Location - Flint, MI.

    Advice to Management

Be nicer to loyal employees when realigning and outsourcing their jobs.
