Current Employee – been working at Key Energy Services
Pros – Key has grown dramatically in ND this last year. New equipment, housing and offices. With the growth comes available positions for those looking to advance.
Cons – With that growth and the lack of workers comes premature advancements in employment. From Driver to Supervisor in 6 mos etc.. Recognition does not exist. There is no raise in plan for those employed 1 year.
Advice to Senior Management – Build a relationship with your employees that will allow their neutral perspective to be considered. Install a compensation package for 1 year employment.

Current Employee – been working at Key Energy Services
Pros – -Gives you a paycheck and sometimes a bonus.
-Can work with some interesting technology
-Management does provide some schedule flexibility and time off for family emergencies
Cons – -If there is a vision, management has never articulated it
-Will not pay for equipment replacement, even if broken
-People always seem to be the first cut unlike unnecessary expenses such as management's travel
-Company's bureaucracy makes the Federal government look efficient
-Company will lie about insurance and leave the employee hanging
-No advancement unless you are in management's graces
-No performance reviews
-Employees tend to have anger issues. Will yell at other employees over minor events
-Senior management treated significantly different than regular employees
-Morale is overall low, and management will not address it
-Practically no job security
-Very little training
-Managers do not discuss career plans with the company.
Advice to Senior Management – Articulate some sort of vision. The company is basically floundering, and senior management will not address it. Don't let rumors float around. They have sapped a significant amount of morale. Be honest and direct with employees.

Pros – Good benefits but will cut at will. only reason i m still around is my rig pusher. Seems to be somewhat Christian oreantated
Cons – My experience with key is that they are promoting who you know instead of experience at lest in west texas. LIke weeding out the old school people who know well servicing.
Advice to Senior Management – Take closer look at old school safety minded hand instead of who can bring you work or money to company. I ve worked for key 7 years had only 2 f o r accidents only and my reward have been 2 hat and no x mas bounes. not even an atta boy other then rig pusher management ......

Current Employee – been working at Key Energy Services
Pros – In my job there is very little repition in the day to day work. The not haveing the same mundane things to perform day in and day out is a great bonus!
Cons – There is verry little communication, making it hard for anyone to effecitvely and efficiently perform their job duties. It's like corporate thinks the field staff should be able to second guess what it is they are thinking and perform on that judgement.
Advice to Senior Management – Give more clear concise communication or direction as to what they want implemented or changed. There have been numerous times policy or procedure has been changed and no communication as to when or how it will take effect. This makes doing our jobs difficult to say the least. Key has gotten to a point where there are TOO many chiefs and not enough Indians and this makes our work loads even more difficult to juggle.

Pros – The good side of working here is the safety program that they have in place. It is one of the best.
Cons – Bad communication from upper management all the way down to the lowest man on the list. To many loud mouth know it all new workers that only have 1 to 2 months experience in the position they are in. Very bad lack of leadership, especially in the rental equipment shop. Management states " no job is worth putting yourself at risk" and say not to rush or speed, but yet we have dispatch and several supervisors rushing up at every turn like NASCAR drivers. To many boss's are buddy, buddy with lower level employees which lands new hires in open positions instead of senior employees.
Advice to Senior Management – Show employees more respect. Show employees who do a good job that they have been noticed and are appreciated. Communication needs to be improved greatly. Look into experience level before promoting to new positions. Stop the buddy factor from boss to employee and keep it professional. Look into higher pay for shop hands. Main reason alot are quitting is due to lack of pay and bad moral level stemming from management down.
