I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible company, good for new initiatives, good managers. Excellent benefits and fair remuneration

    Cons

Seasonal business, producers don't respect service companies, lot of layoffs during downturns

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was a great job and I enjoyed the work and the challenge. Pay was good and good benefits. Great people to work with and potential to move up in the workforce was available.

    Cons

Sudden layoffs where upsetting for everyone. Upper management had no clue how the day to day operations worked and layed off based on the highest paying employees and kept the lowest level ones with only one person to look over them.

    Advice to Management

Look at more than numbers when you have to lay people off. Keep employees who have bin there a long time and know what they are doing. You are going to have to have knowledgeable people when work picks back up.

I worked at Key Energy Services (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good focus on safety, process and customers. Good drive to be industry leading in their field.

    Cons

Short focus on employees, their growth and career goals. The company is a victim of their own quick growth and expansion in a declining market. Too top heavy.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the resource that makes your company profitable.....your people and their talents. Give them a path and support.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hard to be fired, good pay and lots of over time, decent health care, incentives and bonuses.

    Cons

Hard to be fired, it tends to take act of Congress for job approvals, employment is pretty stable but does fluctuate depending on oil economy.

I worked at Key Energy Services (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good salary, open schedules, option to work 9/80 shifts, excellent downtown location, paid parking or paid bus fair

    Cons

Benefits are not good at all. HR department does not care about spreading your private and very personal information. Managers in certain departments will label you an outcast for going to HR.

    Advice to Management

Be responsible with personal information. Lives can be ruined by simply letting employees know information that should not be known by anyone but HR and the direct manager/director.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In spite of all the layoffs and people leaving, there are still a lot of good people in the company.

    Cons

Worst (former) president, CEO and chairman imaginable. If the Boad had "retired" him 2 or more years ago, the company would not be in its current condition. There is not a single initiative the company has undertaken that has not failed in his 10+ years with the company. Salary and benefit cuts have already been put in place. Limited opportunity right now.

    Advice to Management

New President has his work cut out. I hope he is successful.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

During my time at Key I worked with some very good people who were dedicated and talented.

    Cons

The company has not made a profit in over 3 years, even before the 2014 - 2015 drop in oil prices. Several acquisitions have not turned out profitable. The only solution over the years has been to reorganize and lay off employees. These efforts have not been successful.

    Advice to Management

Stockholders, other than the BOD, would be served best by a new executive team in my opinion. The company needs a totally new direction. Getting acquired may be the best move for the company as a whole.

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of room for advancement, nice people, tough work!

    Cons

Long hours, work/life balance isn't there. Dirty industry

    Advice to Management

Listen to the ground work employees as they have answers

I worked at Key Energy Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People, safety minded, good management across the board, solid company. I was very impressed with the way our part of the company was operated as a whole.

    Cons

Managements hands were tied concerning work schedualing......customer had to much input into companies private buisness ( my opinion ) just saying.

    Advice to Management

Learn to say " no " to customers where employees are concerned as work scheduales very much affect family / home lives.

    Pros

Current employees will tell you they can't think of one thing

    Cons

    1. You will not get the raises you deserve unless you're related to one of the executives 2. the company talks a lot of BS--employer of choice; communication; effective leadership, but they dont folow what preach 3. this company acts like a privately owned one even though they're publicly traded 4. in 4 years, they've had 6 layoffs. this is bad for society as well as it increases the number of people having to draw from unemployment 5. HR sucks! one of its people are promoted simply bc of who they know without proper degrees and experienc 6. most people who work at Key --field and corporate--hate their jobs and are trying to escape Do yourself a favor and find a real company that knows how to manage a business, correctly forecast and doesnt engage in nepotism

    Advice to Management

Nepotism is not a way to run a SUCCESSFUL business
