Pros
Pay was reasonable and there were some good coworkers. It will also look good on your resume
Cons
Interview was very unprofessional. Management has no clue on what's going on. Not recommended
Advice to Senior Management
Please reward hard work and dedication. I've seen so many unqualified and incompetent senior managers.
Pros
lots of vacation time, enough opportunity to advance
Cons
managment is so disorganized, KeyBank has branded itself as a heartless revolving door corp where sections of employees are constantly laid off for no fault of their own & treated as they meant nothing. It created an atmosphere of fear & helplessness, & some employees jumped ship before it was their turn. Meanwhile, they are hiring other people in other depts. Makes absolutely no sense.
Advice to Senior Management
start treating your employees like human beings
Pros
Good platform for clients to recognize value; Good benefits that had been excellent; Generous time off; When training is provided it is excellent; you'll receive training from peers...you better hope they are good at what they do.
Cons
Limited growth opportunities; Limited training opportunities; Internal strife; Unrealistic sales goals;
Major increase to # of upper level management since TARP but decrease to the front line staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Why bother any ideas for how things can be improved aren't heard...or at least not taken into consideration for future change.
Pros
Flexibility, benefits, smart people, opportunity for career movement/advancement
Cons
banking industry risky compared to others for job security
Pros
Flexible management, compensation was better than its peers, management really understood what it took to help grow you as a person and an employee
Cons
KeyCorp is not the largest of companies, and as such, it doesn't allow for as much flexibility if you need to move.
Advice to Senior Management
I would suggest KeyCorp to continue to promote the employees and grow their people, because it really was an enjoyable work experience.
Pros
Experience
great for resume
Skills in customer service.
Cons
Lack of professionalism
Lack of coaching
Lack of understanding of needs of staff
Advice to Senior Management
Leadership needs to be better about coaching their employees in order to help them be successful in their job.
Pros
The hours are great, as they are in most banks. My pay is good, I did however have to renegotiate twice for it. If you are persistent, opportunities for growth are prevalent.
Cons
You will work overtime, and not get paid for it. The computer are very old and crash often, therefore creating tension with clients.
Advice to Senior Management
To not treat tellers like secretaries. The work load is significant without additional work handed down by management. Also, to pay tellers for all hours worked.
Pros
Good benefits and vacation package. Flexible WFH.
Cons
Performance review process unfair to employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop changing the rules every three months.
Pros
Paid time off and peer employees
Cons
Management does not recognize employees for jobs well done.
Advice to Senior Management
Management should realize that employees have a life outside of Key. When the branches are so understaffed, it requires the manager to both run a teller window and the platform. It is not unusual that I work 60+ hours per week with no relief or recognition. I keep hearing how I'm running one of the larger branches, but right now I have 3 employees including me. Someone needs to wake up!
Pros
Very supportive atmosphere and managers, great training leaves you very prepared to go on the floor. They coach and know you don't get everything perfect all at once, and work with you on whatever you need improvement with diligently. As long as you do what they say, make an honest effort and are pleasant to customers, you can't go wrong. You get bonus payments each month as long as you book at least 20 sales a month, which is very easy to do after the first month. Casual and fun environment, people still respect each other. You get a cube, your own workstation next to others. They have food a lot and contests. They pay 13.10 an hour plus a 10% shift differential if you work at night or on weekends, so that make it almost 14.00 an hour. Benefits for part time, medical, dental, great vision plan. Also 401K you can participate in, they match a certain amount after a year. You get 60 hours of pto a year if your part time.
Cons
The outbound telesales hours are mostly at night 5-9 pr 6-10 mon-thur or tue-friday, plus sat 9am-1pm. the the short shifts are nice since sometimes people can treat you horribly when you call them, other times though customers are great and you can have some great conversations with really nice people. but the night hours are not for everyone, great for those who can do that every week, week after week. you will be on a dialer which means you have to be prepared to be on the phone non-stop, though you can go to the bathroom and stuff like that, that's all fine, you just have to be timely. The training is great, this is a job that is great for people that try, not for those that enjoy too much slack time, because they do monitor you with coaching and notice if you aren't trying or doing certain things.
Advice to Senior Management
Good job!
