Former Employee - Provider Claims Service Representative in Philadelphia, PA

I worked at Keystone Mercy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It is a good paying job for anyone who wants to get their foot in their door. IF you are able to make it through a year, you can move around in that company.

    Cons

It's fast paced and stressful. It was on an almost everyday basis that someone was carried out on a stretcher due to work related stress. You cannot take time off, since everything is done through a workflow system. In order to take time off, you need to have seniority AND your quality scores need to meet standards, otherwise you are screwed. Management can and will try to hold you from a promotion, even going so far to justify firing you. Some supervisors will disrespect you and auditors are very partial in how claims and calls are audited. It does, however depend on what line of business you work on and who is your supervisors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be professional and treat your employees like adults, not children.

I have been working at Keystone Mercy full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great opportunities to learn new technology if you're in the IT World. Use it for your next employer.

    Cons

Not much advancement opportunities unless you're brought along by someone who was hired as a Senior VP. Atmosphere can be chaotic. Everything is urgent and due yesterday. If you don't jump when you're told to jump, everything is instantly escalated to the Senior VP.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your ivory towers are starting to impede your vision. Time to come out and mingle with the little people.

I worked at Keystone Mercy full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Large Company, growing markets, training, teambuilding, several of the people in various departments are great co-workers and care

    Cons

Large Company, hesitant to try new ideas, too many "high-school" politics that greatly hinder the potential of the company. Alot of the tenured Directorsemployees have no outside experience to relate to and are subjected to their own bad habits, time after time.
