Pros
pay was good, good communication
Cons
not enough placement help after ending project
Advice to Senior Management
more help needed after contract ends
Pros
Fun and interesting people to work with. The employees at Kforce are the best part. Everyone is fun and energetic.
Cons
Low salary compensation. The pay at Kforce depends on the health of the economy. When firms are hiring, it is very easy to make money.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide greater incentives and allow employees to have more freedom. With any sales position, freedom is key. As long as the job gets done, management should be happy.
Pros
so many clients
good pay
good benefits
Cons
do not do performance review until you force them
Pros
I would say the best thing from my time at this company was meeting some very qualified and entertaining people. The back office support was great as well.
Cons
In this office, the recruiter is the lowest person on the totem pole, but the one to blame at all times. The Account managers won't accept responsiblity for incomplete or completely wrong information being given to the recruiters in order to find a qualified candidate. It's a matter of they are so desperate to put any job order up on the board, in order to make their "KPI's" irregardless of whether there is a relationship with the client or not.
One particular IT account manager is heard to scream, "I need candidates by the end of business, today!" The AM has no relationship with her clients. They do not return her calls. Numerous times while recruiting for her position, candidates that were not accepted by the client through her, were working as contractors for that same client when contacted next. As a recruiter, that's money stolen from my pocket.
Part of the desperation stems from the extremely high turnover rate. In my tenure of 11 months, in an office of 30 people, over 25 people came and went. Clients want continuity, not a new person calling on them each month because the previous account manager was no longer there.
Advice to Senior Management
I imagine the corporate office spends millions implementing new training programs and incentives. They aren't passed along to the people who need them by the local managment team. During one incentive, the promtion package sat on the managers desk and was never opened.
The main incentive was the Champions Club. I promise you, if you call the Houston office, speak to anyone who has worked there 3 years or less and ask them to explain how the Champions Club works, they won't know.
While I was there, the IT manager openly discussed confidential complaints from other employees during 1x1 sessions. There's a firm policy in place to play favorites and to pass the buck to whoever was on the S-list that week.
When asking for a breakdown of what my commission structure was, how much I needed to bill to repay my draw, and about what additional training was available, my requests were completely ignored. I don't know if it was laziness or ignorance. My opinion, probably both as the manager spent more time planning her vacations and talking with family members on the phone than she did managing our group.
The phrase that describes this office the best is: What have you done for me lately, and whatever it was, it wasn't good enough.
Trashing people's self esteem is the norm. If you don't come in by 6:30 am and stay past 7pm, you are not a team player. There is no balance between work and home. Even though the tools are provided by the corporate office to be able to work anywhere.
My biggest question to the corporate office is, when do you step back and see that it's a failure from the leadership position, not the worker bees. It's unfortunate for the truly talented people on the team that as long as they are at this office with this managment team in place, they will never reach their true earning potential.
Pros
Very nice building and technology/equipment.
Intelligent co-workers with creative ideas.
Fair, not above market compensation for starting your career.
Many training opportunities for select employees (sales)
Cons
Politics within. Alot of talking about non-business related issues about others
Far too many "chiefs". Some working teams have as many leads/managers as they do employees
Recent compensation package revisions to obtain more work out of employees for the same payout
Advice to Senior Management
This may sound petty but I suggest making the parking spaces a little wider. I often get to work and start my day off bad due to having to wrinkle my cloths up and "crawl" out of my car just to get to work.
Pros
Coporate support via best in industry technologies, great back office support, strong operations.
People. Kforce hires the best.
Compensation plan, if you produce, Kforce will pay you well.
Cons
Benefits. Not a huge negative, but health benefits, 401K, etc. are very average. It would be nice to have more options than we currently have.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you are doing. I have been with the company ten years and have experience great growth and have witnessed many improvements through out the firm.
Pros
Provide excellet benefits including 401K and affordable health insurance for singles. The price for health insurance is fairly high for families.
Cons
Securing your next assignment and lack of efford from its permanent search side
Advice to Senior Management
Step up and reward your employees by really working in securing permanent roles and/or temporary positions.
Pros
A paycheck until something better comes along. Some training and test taking. If fresh out of college you can meet with recruiters close to your age.
Cons
The consensus I'm finding with others that have tried KForce as job placement service have been nothing but negative comments and considered worthless.
Who you talked to on the phone will not be the same person that you meet in person.
You may get a recent college grad with low base pay and rest commission.
Before even interviewing at a company to find out what the WHOLE position entails they want a wage per hour amount out of you. Which is only part of the total compensation package. The staffing/recruiter person sounded very young and inexperienced.
It's your career! Why should you put YOUR career/livelihood in a person like this hands.
MOST jobs aren't posted! In other words it's who you know. Especially here in the St. Louis area.
Final reminder...Some reasons why companies use recruiters/staffing because the position has a high turnover and/or it's hard to fill from other ways e.g., present company employees have very little referrals and choose not to network outside of work, etc....
Always a good interview question, "Why is this position open?"
Advice to Senior Management
Better training, certifications for your recruiters. Everyone that I have spoke with says your company brand is tarnished among companies and employment seekers in the St. Louis, MO area. People looking for quality employment know not to use KForce.
Pros
Honestly, just about the only good thing that I can say about Kforce is that there's no micromanagement, they let me do my job.
Cons
I was hired on as a contractor for an Intelligence Analyst position and was promoted to a supervisory position which included traveling to train analysts, supervising analysts in their daily duties, submitting reports, working closely with the client, etc. For submitting my first travel pay/mileage submission I had to make four phone calls (they did not return my voicemails) and send two emails over a three week period before I received the paperwork that I needed to submit my mileage. Once I submitted it, they lost it. . . so I had to submit it again. It took almost five additional weeks to receive my travel reimbursement. The same thing happened with my later mileage submissions. When I would call the account manager with questions/concerns about something 95% of the time they wouldn't be in the office and I couldn't reach them and it took about three to four phone calls and voicemails on my part before they would return my calls. All the analysts on the contract were told that we would receive a review after a one year time period. When that time period came around we analysts reminded the account manager of the promise of our reviews and they said that they would give reviews the following month. The following month myself and several other analysts placed calls and emails asking for a review - no phone calls were returned, the emails returned said that we would receive our reviews at a later date. Our reviews never took place. I found the Kforce staff that I worked with to be utterly incompetent and dishonest.
Advice to Senior Management
Honesty and competence go a long way. Your organization has left a bad taste in my mouth and with the other analysts who were on the same contract with me. It's very shocking and disappointing to see how your organization is run.
Pros
It is good for people unable to find full time employment. Very cordial and nice, willing to talk with you anytime.
Cons
Otherwise limited future potential. Plus working at another company means low chance of full time at that company. Good luck
Advice to Senior Management
Perhaps more advice on future roles or how to get future work with the company. Otherwise it seems they are competent.
