    Pros

    Nice facility, some nice people

    Cons

    The Korean work horse model

    Advice to Management

It is NOT cool to have a contract employee invest an entire year of their time into a position, use them during Christmas Break shutdown and then end their contract w NO explanation just to hire another contractor who then gets hired in 90 days.

Yes, I understand all employment is At Will, but the treatment of Contract employees is pretty disgusting here, jobs become available and they are almost ALWAYS spoken for. I have personally heard people say "if you worked as a contractor for Hyundai, KIA will not hire you" I was also told not to mention my sexuality to a certain boss, when Kia labels itself as "all inclusive".

    Pros

    - Good people.
    - Growing company with a much improved product.
    - Excellent health insurance benefits - when I left, all premiums company-paid, and the coinsurance % for employees to pay is incredibly low.
    - Total pay is good once you factor in all intrinsic offerings of value (beyond just base pay).
    - Good 401(k) match.
    - Lean organization provides opportunity to take on projects outside of your traditional job role.

    Cons

    - Funding is horrible for projects and programs. US subsidiary expected to make up for other countries' poor cash flow.
    - Company consistently talks about being one of the top brands, is currently tier-II with respect to business practices, operations, programs, plans, etc.
    - Korean business culture shouldn't be applied as a one-sized-fits-all approach. Embrace local US practices.
    - Invest in your employees, HR programs significantly underfunded save for benefits
    - Dissolve the Executive Coordinator business model, it's broken. Very few individuals have any line-of-sight back to parent company.
    - Operationally inefficient - embrace technology, get rid of actually obtaining physical signatures.
    - Finance doesn't operate under the CEO. Financial goals and operational goals have 0 alignment.
    - Every Kia subsidiary is essentially on their own, parent company (Kia Motors Corporation in S. Korea) needs to build and develop programs globally.
    - Get rid of the disengaged negative employees, they bring down everyone else.
    - Headcount significantly worse compared to equally sized automotive companies.
    - Too legally conservative. Every great organization takes on an acceptable amount of risk.

    Advice to Management

Rebuild your leadership and operational model. Build a strategic multi-year plan and stick with it, stop shifting goals and priorities every few months.

    Pros

pay was good, employees were great for the most part. American employees with experience in automotive are priceless.

    Cons

No autonomy (although its suggested) without consequences. Korean culture still needs to work on QUALITY!!!! Kia and Hyundai need a model that isn't a copy of other automobile companies.

    Advice to Management

Quit making cookie cutter cars, go for QUALITY and models that are unique to the Kia name (don't copy Hyundai either)

    I worked at Kia

    Pros

Fastest growing auto maker. Some benefits. The product is well made and easy to sell. Kia will eat Honda ' s lunch.

    Cons

Worst pay in the business. Rampant graft. Cultural Walls. Extremely mismanaged. Shoestring budgets. Employees forced to cover the cost of day to day business and then seek reimbursements. Growing too fast. Rapid traffic at the exit. Zero advancement for Americans.

    Advice to Management

    Get a real job.
